abnormal pap after leep

Hi, I'm 23 and had a leep done about 4 months ago, I had CIN3 Severe Dysplasia. About two weeks ago I went back for my follow up pap and today I got a call from the office saying that It came back with Atypical Cells again and now my doctor wants to do another colposcopy. Now I'm extremely scared because I think that If the results of my colpo are not good I need a second Leep and I really want kids. I don't know if I should start planning on having a baby or wait to see what happens. Its just that I heard that every time you have a leep the chances of getting pregnant and less and less. I honestly do not know what to do.

I trully feel all of your stories ladies. I am 23 years of age. I had my first ever pap smear in 2008 and it came back abnormal. I had a biopsy which confirmed CIN III cells. After having a LEEP procedure, blood tests and 4 pap smears, i still continue to have abnormal readings two years after the LEEP procedure. Blood tests confirmed i was HPV positive, i am very scared. I recently had a pap smear (it had been a year since my last one) and it was again abnormal. I am taking matters into my own hands and getting another opinion from a different doctor to make sure i dont need another form of treatment as my cells were CIN I a year ago.
I dont know about you all, but it can be so frustrating at times after you have a pap smear come back abnormal and they tell you to wait for another 6 months. I just want this over with. I want to be able to have kids and live a happy healthy life and not have to worry about this in the background.
Have many of you had CIN III cells and had abnormal paps after you have a LEEP procedure? what have you had to do?

I am 33, not married. Had CIN 1, yr 08 , went for colpo, tested a year later, it shown negative for the passed 2 years. Recently, I went for my regular 6 mths check up. I am confirmed with Cin 2. Went for colpo again. It bleed for about a month. Lots of white clear discharge eversince but was told ok. 3mths now, I had green discharge, it shown normal just a bit inflammation, given anti fungal and also some table to insert, 2days later, there are blood stains after sex. I am so depressed. I was told that I do not have cancer by the doctor.
I am Really lost, cant talk to anyone. I was told to go for laser as it will clear it better compared to the rest of the procedure. After gynae, reached home, there are more blood after ultrasound. I got really freak out as I have the similar signs of cervical cancer after reading it online!!

What else can I do?

So I am glad I found this site to discuss with others that have similar issues. Last month was possibly one of the worse months ever, I found out that I have HPV and my pap came back abnormal. I had the colpo done and leep (In which I was not put under at all, the numbed my cervix and I didn't feel a thing?) However the biopsy she did with the leep came back with carcinoma in sito. I have a follow up today and am pretty freaked out. I am 26 and I do have a 3 year old son.... Part of me just wants them to do the hysterectomy but that freaks me out too... thank you for letting me vent.

How r your paps after Jan. 2010? R they now still normal,just had a keep done recently!?!

I'm 19 and I have HPV. I don't know how to get the test to see what strain it is, and I guess my gyn didn't hear me when I asked how to go about getting it... But anyways, I've had 4 abnormal pap tests, 2 cryos and a leep about 3 months ago. I had the leep done in the day surgery and the gyn said that putting me to sleep was not an option and was "just not done", so he stuck me with a needle (which hurt!) and froze me. I didn't feel any pain, but I felt the pressure of the cutting, which really freaked me out. I bled for 2 weeks, and had a gross smelling brown discharge for a month that looked like it had brown sand in it? I called the gyn's office and the secretary said that it was normal. I had a follow-up pap done last week. I don't know about anyone else, but my pap included sticking a bristled brush into my cervix? The gyn said that my cervix didn't grow back properly and that the hole of my cervix had something wrong with it, so he had to force this brush through the skin to get the "correct" sample. I was in AGONY, and when he pulled the brush out because I was literally screaming from the pain, there was blood all over it. He said that he had to continue because he had to get the brush through the cervix. After a few more attempts and more of my screaming (and at this point tears had soaked my entire face and my hair) he said that he had gotten it. So now, here I am, waiting for the results, anxious about what the results will be, hoping for the miracle of a normal pap. In the meantime, I struck more luck! I'm a month or so pregnant. There is no way I can give birth to this baby, because if my parents find out I'm pregnant, they'll kick me out of their house and I'll end up in a shelter, so I have to get an abortion. I don't even know if it is POSSIBLE for me to get an abortion. If the gyn couldn't stick a brush through my cervix, how will they open it up and pull a fetus out of it? And I don't think I can do a chemical abortion because I'm on psychiatric medications. I'm so scared, worried, anxious and depressed. I can't call a doctor to get any answers until Wednesday because of new years, and I'm sure me going crazy until then won't help my cause. If anyone could please help me out here, I would appreciate it so much.

What did thredoctors do after your LEEP procedure? I have the same situation

I thought the LEEP rocedure personally was a lot less painful then the coloscopy! I was awake through the Leep. He numbed the area up with a shot.  The Leep smells a bit but it's more or less, a pressure than pain.  I went home and slept.  Following the Leep you feel uncomfortable down below.   I took a xanax which helped as well.  I had a Leep tho, and the first pap following came back normal.  Now I am in a similar situation....back to abnormal.

I had my LEEP this past January and just had my follow up pap a weeks ago and it still came back abnormal. The weird thing is, I've been tested for HPV three times and they've all been negative. The results were precancerous before I got my leep so I'm scared that they either didn't get it all or something is making this come back quickly. I'm only 22 and have been in good health up until this. I'm not sure what to do or what this could mean.

I had my first abnormal pap back in jan followed by a colposcopy a few weeks later and it showed CIN1. The doctor wanted to see if my body would heal itself and checked me again in August and I had an abnormal pap again and the colpo showed CIN3. I just had my LEEP done and waiting for the results to come back. If there are any negative signs or a bad pap after this my only option is for a hysterectomy. I just beat AML leukemia last year and now this.....I'M NOT EVEN 30 YET!!!

Kaycee -- how are you doing today. Your story is exactly like mine except I just scheduled the Leep procedure for next week. I'm scared. Please tell me how yours turned. Thank you

My dr didn't out me to sleep for my leep procedure and it was very painful. I have to go back on Wednesday because I had another abnormal pap. I am terrified they will tell me I have to have another leep.

Hi this is happening to me right now. What were your results of the colposcopy? Hope all is well

I had the leep done the week before my 23rd birthday and i am now 25. it has been 2.5 years. at my first check up in late december my doc said it was all removed in the procedure. but when i went in for my annual last may she said abnormal again. i requested to wait a year before doing any further things because both of those paps [the first visit and the annual] hurt so bad. honestly i had never felt any pain through any pap prior to the leep. supposedly my cervix had scarred shut just right. i am very nervous and anxious to have my annual tomorrow afternoon. i havent slept well all week. my fingers are just crossed that it doesnt hurt so i can rock out some hope that i can go another year without having to go through what i went through when i had the first leep done. i knew its was probably too late but i did complete the three shot series post leep procedure. i have been with the same guy now for 3.5 years and i have no intentions or feelings that will change. for being in a newer relationship that man continued by my side even without "rewards" for a seeming long period. I feel like this time is going to be a negitive to the abnormal. I am crossing my fingers. and i will keep them crossed for all of you.
