I have had this aching/tenderness in my right testicle about 3 weeks. It was really bad to start with, but is hurting much less now, so I feel it might be going away. Same thing as many here... worse when I am laying down, plus some aching in adjacent areas of my groin.

It came on just after I got really sweaty and itchy down there and scratched my scrotum several times over a few day, then put hydrocortisone on it several days running.

Sorry for a long post.

My symptoms are very similar: aching in my left testicle, and a muscle/vein discomfort in my left leg (sometimes behind the knee, sometimes in my calf, and sometimes in the upper part of the leg. Sometimes it makes me limp slightly when I walk.

I had varicose veins removed from my testicle as a kid. I did and do care a lot about my package, but I certainly stopped interpreting "blue balls" as cancer. :D It's ok to care. Everyone is different though. Take a day off and see your doc would be my advice.

Anyhow, chances are very good that it is a pulled groin/other muscle in my case. You see, I am 27, slightly overweight/almost in shape. I walk about 1 mile every day, but I do sit a lot at work.

I prided myself in being able to run up the subway stairs very quickly. As Summer changed to Fall, it became cold and I stopped doing that, and than did it again one day. I no longer did run up like a champ, and there was slight discomfort in the leg when I stopped.

It's been about 3 days now that I feel this discomfort (on and off). My first reaction was DVT or something like that. That made me panic. I was looking for connection between sleep meds I occasionally take and DVT or something like that. Finding answers on this post made me relax. Nothing is bluish, no change in temperature though, so it is all good. When I strech my leg muscles on purpose, I can cause more pain (and it does kind of feel like a pulled muscle pain, though in different muscles in different places). Pulling pain/discomfort in the right testicle does make it confusing though.

I am pretty sure it was my pulled muscles. Should things change and I have something to add, I will post again. Those of you who feel pain/discomfort in different ways should continue lookng. Good luck to all of you!

I too am having some sort of pain, like the type of pain you feel when you hit your testicle, or slightly squeeze it. It's not sensitive to be honest, it just sort of happens, and for some reason I feel that it happens more when I think about it. Anyway, the 'pain' sort of starts at the right testicle, and shoots towards my thigh, the inner back part of my thigh. I don't know what it is, and I'm slightly worried. I've only had it for about 3 days now, and it's actually occurring a lot less which makes me feel a bit better.

I have the same things that you guys are talking about... pain not inside, but some place around my right testicle (it's kinda hard to pinpoint it), a pain in my lower abdomen in the same area, and a pain/ache in my right leg that feels like growing pains. I've been to the doctor, and they haven't diagnosed it, and I've had a blood test. It worsens with stress, and I feel it more when I'm laying down, or when I'm idle. I'm going to go back to the doctors soon to have an ultrasound done so I can rest assured that nothing's really wrong. What on earth is this? I know we ALL don't have cancer.

there hasn't been a post on this topic in a while. But i did a google search and this came up. I share the exact same symptoms. I haven't been to a doctor about this. It's been about a week since the pain started. I am starting to think it might have something to do with too much masturbation. If anyone has been to a doctor please share your diagnosis. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i have the same problem for last 9 months. initially doc diagnosed prostatitis (inflammtion in prostrate) and kept me on antibiotics for nearly 3-4 months. Pain went and came on again. Then i went to another uro and andrologist who sent me for another ultrasound and found that my prostrate was of normal size however he suspected the enlargement of my ureter. So he asked me to get some more tests done, after which he ruled the areter thing out.
Lastly he said, everything is normal, just stop thinking about it. Well how can u stop thinking abt pain when ut is there. But still, i tried and have been trying that for last 3 months with no avail.
In 2-3 days m going to consult 2-3 another docs. Will post if i find anything worthy.
All the best.

I am 29 years old, 6 feet tall and weigh 185 pounds. In 2001, I had testicular cancer and lost my left testicle.

Obviously I was concerned when I started experiencing a dull, aching, and bruised feeling in my remaining testicle in the summer of 2008. This was almost immediately followed by nausea. I did start running again prior to the return of the sensation, and I was doing a lot more leg presses and squats, but saw a doctor to be sure. The doctor thought it was a pulled groin muscle or referred pain, but not likely cancer this time. The doctor also asked if I rode bicycles, and I did go on a mountain bike ride in the past month. The problem eventually went way six months ago. I'm sure the nausea was psycosympematic.

Last week, I started running and doing squats again, and the sensation returned. I have also developed sciatica on my right side. Ibuprofen, stretching, ice, and a heat pad on the lower back/glute all help. If this persists I will see the doctor again, but I plan to ride this one out.

I went to the doctor about 7 years ago after finding several lumps in my scrotum near my right testicle. I went and got an ultra sound and they diagnosed me with a varicocele (basically the same thing as varicose veins...the blood flow is disrupted somehow and causes the vein to bulge), and also a small calcification. I had forgotten it until a few days (weeks?) ago when it started to ache. Basically it is an ache and occasional sharp pain around my right testicle. Sometimes it radiates over to my right let, and it also travels down the area where my scrotum attaches to my leg. I'm planning on getting it checked out soon so i will be sure to post any diagnosis.

P.S. good to hear that most of you on here HAVE NOT been diagnosed with cancer, as this is the main concern.

I am so glad I found this forum because I thought it was going to sound really crazy when I see the doc and tell him that I have pain in my testicle that "radiates" down my leg. It is funny that one of the more common themes here seems to be related to exercise. At the first of the year I decided to start exercising again (eliptical, curls, lats, etc.) and by the 15th of Jan is when this started occurring. I'm stopping now after reading this and have an appt in 3 weeks with a urologist. It is slightly disappointing that a lot of you have not had resolution to this. The guy I'm seeing it supposed to be real good so I hope he has an answer...

Dear fellows,

i have the exact same thing, right testicle and right leg ache all the time, while sometimes its gone. I have it for few months now, and no solution. I have studied a lot, now getting worried. But I realized later that it probably is because of too much driving. My driving position is uncomfortable, more over wearing tight undergarments, so it creates lot of pressure thus leading to the pain. I had a week holiday in December 08 and after few days the pain went away. Take lot of rest, and wear lose undergarments, that should help a little.

I am experiencing an aching pain in my right testicle and right leg much like many of you have described. The only other symptom I have noticed is that the right testicle sometimes remains higher than the left. When the right decides it wants to reunite with its partner much of the pain is relieved. I usually can manage to do this by relaxin my abdominal muscles. Because of this I believe that the aching is due to either a muscle pull, inflammation of a tendon, or a tear of some kind, Probably the muscle that raises and lowers the testicles.

After a brief period of inactivity over the winter I have started to play a large amount of tennis, table tennis, and field events such as shot put, discus and high jump. So many opportunities for said pull or strain are present.

If anyone has found a solution to this aching I would greatly appreciate it if you would post the solution in this thread. I will check back regularly.

The human anatomy is complicated. However, I have been experiencing very similar symptoms and found that taking a dump, yes a bowel movement, really relieves the pain. This has led me to believe that some of your problems may somehow be related to internal pressure. Furthermore, your activities, sitting postures, etc, all this may affect the pain, because that may lessen or increase the internal pressure (or external). Pain travels through your body, thats why its hard to pinpoint the cause, for example, a headache can be caused by a toothache. I suspect that at least some of you are exacerbating a problem due to constipation and lack of regular bowel movements, so there might be a weakness inside you, that causes pain when it has to deal with abnormal stress. What some of you have may be related to a hernia, you can try strengthening your muscles in the abdominal region and see if taking a dump helps relieve the symptoms even a little bit.
