I'm 46 and have had much sebum in my skin from head to tops of shoulders and in the groin. I get large white plugs and many times get infected with pus. My skin doesn't heal well and leave large scars. They itch alot. I shower daily and use a clearasil cream cleanser that is guaranteed to clear skin in 3 days. It helps but still produce sebum alot. I am female and have had this since puberty. What can I do to help it and why me? :-(
hi, with the best will in the world i you have a problem with severe long term acne it doesnt matter how much you wash or how many creams you put on you will still have a problem with spots. the only really effective treatments are in tablet form that will fight the cause from the inside and help to reduce the amount of spots you get in the first place. speak to your doctor there are a few different methods and combinations available or they may decide to send you to a dermatologist, but whatever you tr it is a long slow process and it may take a while to find the combination that suits you. hope this helps.
What color does the sebum appear to be? Is it creamy, brown or redish with blood?
