I have the same problem, Painful itchy blisters, so painful and numb finger tips. It is from the acrylic nails, I got gel Nails and it never came back. there is something in acrylics that can cause a horrible reaction. Good Luck.

A couple of my nails lift from the bed also. I never thought the liquid. You mean the liquid they put on before the gel?

i'm allergic to acrylic nails. my syptoms started out as they would just lift like no other-like i was getting into something or hitting them, causing me to see my nail tech like once a week. when we switched from the hard tips with the powdered aryclic to the gel aycrlic i still had the same problem, so we switch primers, still the same problem. one day when she was removing the nail on my index finger, it hurt extremely bad, so she slowly pulled the nail off. the gel aryclic had burned a hole into my natural nail down to the skin and had started to bleed a little. at that time she had asked me if my hands had ever burned or itched after i got my nails done, and i told her yes but i thought it was normal because it always happened. it is not normal. from then on I had to go from any and all acylics to just a gel polish because my nails were so brittle. a year later, they still are.

I also thought I was allergic to the acrylic but through trial and error, using different things, leaving things out I've come to the conclusion that is actually JUST the liquid monomer that is my issue. I can use the dip method acrylic nails with no reaction. They don't use the liquid the base for the acrylic, which you dip your finger into is more of a gel type, thicker and doesn't run all over the place. Works for me since I love my nails!

Well, i work as a retail manager and never use fake nails. I did decide one day to go ahead and pamper myself, the lady that was going to to them suggested the new solar nail, hence they are supposed to last longer and  be stronger, and they do.

wasn't until the third week i need a fill. the week before my filling i notice my ankles and legs swelling, (figured on my feet all day they are just tired) they got so stretched tight i kept scratching and boy with these solar nail it felt good so good it bruised.  now its been over 6 weeks and i am in the hospital, its been 5 days in here so far for this infection that is now mrsa. i have not change my diet or meds and i have no idea what this is Dr, (either does he on knowing what started it)

as im in the showing trying to keep my pic-port dry one of my nails popped off. it then started thinking maybe i am allergic to the MMA use in the nails. and when i kepts scrating the legs were i had a bug bite it got inside some raw skins cells or something, i get more blood culture work tomorrow and as soon as the Dr comes in my room to do his visit i'm going to mention this to him, ask if he can get the items i need to take them off, I will be here for a few more weeks and so imm gonna research and then fid out if that salan uses MMA they are gonna have a nice hospital bill to pay. Ill keep u all posted.  Cheri

I meant to like this comment not dislike it, i have had acrylic nails a few times over the last few years, and this time if i scratch any part of my body, i break out with rash, bumps and itchy skin.

I have just developed these same symptoms. I had a new set put on in late Dec and within 24-48 hours my fingertips were itchy, red and the skin was tight. This was the first time I have ever had any reaction. The itching is so bad that I am soaking my hands in ice water to numb them.

I found a way around this as i am allergic to Nail Polish and acrylic as well. I bought false nails and the double sided sticky tape for nails. they only last a couple days before they are ready to fall off, but then i can take off the old tape and reapply the nail with fresh tape. I absolutely love nail polish and own well over 275 bottles. Only my fingers are allergic though, so I can paint my toes with no issues, and I do use the false nails. Hope this helps

This is not "rare". I'm allergic and I've talked to so many people over the years and many others are too.

It's ALL the same ole junk! Once it does it to your fingers it always will... Leave it alone, that is acrylic..

It's ALL acrylics powder or gel. Once it starts with all the problems it will just get worse each time you go into it. Once you get it all healed up. Stay away from it! Don't go back to it!! Never!! It's that BAD!! AND it's not worth the pain!!

Where do you buy the liquid plastic? I am also allergic to all false nails. I hate my hands and pay almost anything to have beautiful nails. I have used everything to grow may nails including all vitamins associated with nail growth and strength and nothing works. HELP
