While in the ER I had such an awful reaction to Morphine during a gallbladder attack. They injected the morphine and within seconds I was gasping for air and felt like a 500 lb. man was sitting on my chest. I was given an ekg and oxygen and told that there was nothing to be done but wait for the morphine to wear off. They at first thought I was having a heart attack. I am scheduled to have my gallbladder out in two weeks. My attacks are now about twice a day and last for hours with no relief. My quality of life is in the crapper. I have never been so excited to go under the knife!

I wish I could help you but nothing has worked for me so far. I went to the ER earlier today with a severe attack that has come and gone over the last 3 days. I was hoping they would take it today but I have to see the surgeon to have it out. They said I have stones but it wasn't inflamed so they didn't take it. I am hoping to get it done ASAP! I have been off work all week. I cant eat! I cant sleep! I have been up all night throwing up water and the little bit of cereal I mangaged to eat earlier! Thats the only thing I have eaten all day. I feel so exhausted from the attacks. Nothing provides relief for me. I even tried ACV and Omeprazole and I vomited that back up as well. This is killing me!

Hi, I have had gall stones for 5 years now and it has been LEMONS that have kept me out of hospital and away from morphein. Once you feel an attack come on, cut a lemon in half then bite into it like an orange then swallow. After 10 mins the pain will be well and trult gone. Until next time of course

Vomiting everything out of your stomach may actually work. I know it is mentioned "NOT" to force yourself to vomit but what I have found that works for me right when I feel the pressure of a gallbladder attack coming on is to actually induce vomiting. I hate it but I'd rather vomit than endure the excruciating pain that I know is coming. It's obvious something I ate or drank causes the attacks to begin with so whatever it is or was gets expelled back out. Usually once I've done this the gallbladder attack never reaches its full put my face in the carpet peaked out pressure and pain. It begins to reside almost instantly and within 10 minutes it's subsided fully and the only thing I have to deal with is the nasty taste in my mouth . Also I've began taking apple cider vinegar mixed with apple juice about 6 months ago about twice a month after reading so much on the web about it. Something definitely has changed with the attacks. I've went from having 4/5 a month to 1 every 4/5 months...not sure if it actually has helped out or it's the placebo affect but whatever it is I will keep taking it... good luck folks .....

You can still have gallstones even with your gall bladder removed. They can still form in the common bile duct, the bit just before where the gallbladder was. (My partner had this happen. Took 3 years for them to figure it out.) If you're still having attacks, get them to do an ultrasound or MRI on the area to make sure there are no stones in the bile ducts.
