I've always wondered the same thing but I am also to afraid to risk it!
I am allergic to shrimp way to scared to try anything else, but I do however know that I am ok to oysters...I'm really curious what lobster and crab taste like, I've never had them. I will not until I get tested because it scares me
I am extremely allergic to wild gulf shrimp. I get hives, lips swell, airway tightens with just one shrimp. I found out because I used to work in a fish market and would often sample out product. I am mildly allergic to farm raised shrimp (the kind used in most Asian dishes). I will get tingling in my lips and little itchy after eating about 1/4 - 1/2 lb. However, I can eat all other shellfish with no problems. Crab, lobster, muscles, scallops, oysters, muscles... you name it, no issues at all. Odd, I know but I am proof that you can be allergic to shrimp and nothing else. Hope that helps!
I am so allergic to shrimp and crabs, but I can eat scallops and love love them, although I don't know about lobsters.
I'm allergic to shrimp, was able to eat scallops a few times, but the third time developed hives :( No issues with fish, clams, crab. I'm afraid to try lobster
It just so happens I ate shrimp 3 yrs ago xmas had a bad reaction eye swelled up throat closing went to hospital, I'm allergic to shellfish now but just last week I bought 2 lobster tails and made them and they were so good . It just might've have been a bad reaction , I did eat a lot .
Not always the case. I am deadly allergic to shrimp, but I can eat all the lobster I want with no allergic reaction. I also eat plenty of clams, smoked oysters, calimari etc.. It's only shrimp that I had to be rushed to the hospital to get prednisone and epinephine shots.
thats not true, il allergic top shrimp crazy bad, but i can eat lobster and crab no problem, its person by person
A person can be allergic to crustaceans,
(shrimp, lobster, crab) not necessarily all of them. Or someone coukd be allergic to mollusks (scallops, oysters, clams, mussels) but not necessarily all of them.
I get a bad reaction with shrimp and oysters (two different groups) but not to the other stuff. So it depends on the person I guess.

No definites. Just possibilities. Some are allergic to crab, like my Dad - and can eat shrimp all day long. Every person is different, but if we are each careful, we are okay.
Allergies also change over time. Some fade. Others start in later years. So it is best for us to always be vigilant with anything - even if we have eaten something many times before & had no problems! I have anaphylaxis, and as it happens, an early allergy I had to penicillin is now gone, for example, replaced by new allergies. :)

Not me. I am allergic to lobsters but I can eat as many shrimps and crabs as I like.
I am extremely allergic to lobster. Documented. But I eat shrimp and crab meat and all other seafood and have no issues . So the question is what are my chances of developing allergies to other seafood or having an anaphylactic reaction ?
Not true at all. I had an anaphalactic shock reaction from shrimp but can tolerate lobster.
I've always been allergic to shrimp. 1 bite of shrimp will send me to the emergency room. However, I can eat lobster. No problem at all. Not the slightest bit itchy. I can eat crab too. But I can't eat prawn.
Go figure. Just bring some anti-histamine and an adrenaline shot when you try new things. :)

My doctor told me that I was allergic to the red dye in the shrimp. I don't know what that really means but I also can't eat lobster or crab but oysters don't bother me.
