Hi sorry to hear of all your problems. I’m 9 years post internal hemorrhoidectomy and still suffer with chronic fissures. Apparently this is due to tightening of the scars when healing. I use lidocaine gel daily to allow BM and am about to have a further examination under general anaesthetic where they’ve suggested Botox in the fissures to prevent them moving during BM. I hope you’ve recovered fully now as it’s really no life being terrified of having BM

Im on my 7th week of having a hemorrhoidexdomy. Still very painful bm and the itch is crazy along with sting m burn.. Since surgery all my bm have been soft as i take a daily softner the same one I've been taking for over a year.. Two weeks after surgery i have enternal hemroids again.. Plus two skin tags the doc said when i saw him 3 weeks after surgery..
Im still very sore n swollen inside and cant even think of putting any creams up there. I have three creams and the pain is still a 7 scale i still take a pain pill after bm.. And last week 6th week of recovery I now have blood in stool n on the wipes I use..
Prior to this horrible surgery i delt with bleeding n hemroids for many years . but i also have colon cancer n chrones that run in my family the main reason i needed to have this done. Plus bleeding for 8 months Made me have it delt with. I so am regretting it.
I hope its not a fissure Never had one but i hear they can be a nuisance and very painful..
I think i need a second opnion.
But hell if i have to go through this ordeal again.. Im still in pain.more then 6 weeks later...

Hi I had an open haemorrhoidectomy on the 13 Feb 2017. First week and a bit although uncomfortable I did feel things were improving.
However at the 2 week point I suffered severe pain and bleeding following a bowel movement.
Now over a year from my op I have tried various treatments to heal what I am positive is an anal fissure (after a few follow up appointments with my surgeon still not diagnosed)
One of the rectal creams I have tried does aid healing but gives me a banging sore head. As soon as I stop using it all my symptoms come back. Excruciating pain and bleeding sometimes quite heavy.
I have a direct number to book another appt direct but have put off as I really don't fancy another which I'm sure will be the only option.
Do you feel an op would be worth while or persevere?
Any advice would be great

I have had the same happen to me. Be careful of the antibiotics by taking probiotics because it will cause you to have diaherria and cause fissures. 4 months later and I’m in pain every day.

Yes I had a hemmoroidectomy and developed two fissures and six months later, I’m still suffering. Looks like I’m gonna have to have another surgery.

I know this post was over a year ago but I am curious if the surgery for anal fissure helped. I am in the same position after hemorrhoid surgery 3months post and I have been struggling to heal an anal fissure. Have had antibiotics. Multiple hydrocortisone/lidocaine suppositories and Nitroglycerin/lidocaine cream for spasms that help for a while but does not heal it. I am so nervous about another surgery. Should I get another opinion?
