Hello all,
I was reading about gallbladder removal and the percentage of people who after having their gallbladder removed developed a Hiateul Hernia this hernia is the non protruding type, I have talked to two friends who had their gallbladder removed who told me they both have this type of Hernia.
I went for an endoscopy and was told that I had also this hernia present does anyone else have this type of hernia, you may actually not even know you have it unless you have an endoscopy or other tests to determine it is present

Yes, weeks of the gallbladder removal (at 47) , I began having burping, which I have never previously done. I developed severe Gerd and now have Barretts Esophagus, which can be precancerous. During the endoscopy, it was found that I have the hiatal hernia. I believe the root cause of all. This was the surgery, and now I am scrambling to deal with Gerd and permanent PPI use, which I believe is extremely harmful. I don’t understand why our medical system in the USA does not link root causes holistically and systemically. ????? I believe that another surgery to repair the hernia and fix the esophageal opening is needed to prevent me from dying of cancer. But I won’t get that… I’ll get the cancer treatment once it develops, which will be much more costly not to mention destroying my life.
