WOW cold turkey after 50-60 mg of oxy percs. I know this isnt a hell of a lot because this is the amount I do a day, and tried cold turkey and missed three days of work. It felt like I was carrying a baby gorilla on my back while walking through Antarctica. So now Im trying .12 mg of Subs. 1/8 of a tablet to start. I heard start lowwwww. We will see what happens. I WILL NOT take them longer than 5 days while weaning off them until I get to powder amounts

I don't know, as much as the subs have been torturing my soul for the past year tryin to kick em( I've been on 4-8 mg for 3 years), they really did give me my life back compared to a hopeless junky. The problem is, everyone thinks there making the smart choice but don't understand the absolute hell sub detox is bc it lasts FOREVER..

Hi Sarah. I feel your pain. My opiate depenency started with 20-30 vics a day, when progressed from percotet, to oxy demerol dilaudid then finally heroin. I went to a treatment center and they put me on 24 mg of suboxone and i stayed on it for 72 days and it was WAYY TO MUCH. When i came off of the suboxone i felt like i was detoxing off of vics. I shot heroin for 5 years, I relapsed over a year ago and was back on it for about 6 months I got my boyfriend hooked TOGETHER we got off with 20 subs. I'm certified in C.O.W.S... Clinical Opiate Withdrawl symptom. Suboxone was originally designed for 7 day use only. I personally feel like your opiod receptors in your brain need longer than that to reset themselves and I've done every opiate under the sun and been hooked on half but there has NEVER EVER been a craving like there has been when i was shooting heroin. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and a way out. You haven't been doing it that long THANK GOD. Start by taking 4mg incriments at a time until you are stable. If 4 doesn't fix you wait an hr take another 4. I don't think you should need more than 4mg bc of the length of time you were using the smack. I know it's hard to keep going and putting one foot foward but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of dr's won't look out for your well being though and put you on a much higher dose than neccesary. LOOK OUT... sub withdrawl isn't as bad as heroin but it's no picnic either. Good Luck and God Bless

Obviosly you're not an experienced addict. Suboxone has one hell of a nasty. long withdrawal. It's far better to just keep reducing the size of your narcotic dose(heroin users switch to morphine or oxy). Avoid all narcotics with lehgthy withdrawals, ie methadone and suboxyn. You can spend a final week or 2 on codiene stepping down and whe done a couple of weeks with a sleeping pill if needed. This way is painless. Ativan can be used to initiate the switch from heroin, but don't use it longer than a week.

Dude where the f**k did you get your info? are you out of your F*'ing mind!!?!? giving people advice so sincerely and have no f'ing clue.. the naloxone is what stops the withdrawals? you're a f*****g dumbshit. dude.. pardon my french.. but naloxone, or narcan, is what they give heroin addicts when they overdose, to fully deactivate the µ opioid recepter in the brain, thus saving their life. it's an ANT-AGONIST. meaning it deactivates activity to that receptor in the brain.
if a person on suboxone is still experiencing withdrawals, and he takes pure naloxone, he will be screwed. fully deactivated receptor = puking your guts out sick.
and the ceiling effect applies to buprenorphine. which is the other active medication in suboxone. and it is 32mgs. it is called an agonist-antagonist. because it, in a sense, does both. it deactivates receptor activity from such highs like that of heroin, and it does this to keep you from abusing it. but it partially activates it, to keep you functioning and not completely ass out dopesick.
please, do some research. it's not hard. it's all on wikipedia. also, f**k what your doctor says. i know some of them DO say naloxone will cure withdrawal, but part of me thinks that they say sh*t like that because they hate junkies and want to f**k with them. because it does no AT ALL, do anything to aid WS.

I agree with the part about the other person not knowing what they are talking about as far as the opiate addiction, however, I know from experience that suboxone CAN be abused AND that you can get high from it it you take enough. The withdraws from suboxone are more severe then opiates and last anywhere from 15-30 days vs the 4-5 days from opiates. Of course this only applies to people who abuse them or take them for extended periods of time (a few days of taking them is great)

All people are different, metabolism, liver response to the drug, different brain make ups, I feel that if there is an addiction in your family all it takes is the key to turn it on, some people can do all kinds of drugs and walk straight away no withdrawl no nothing.but the addict cant do that, life becomes a living hell, I took suboxone for more than 2 years my doctor put me on the higest dose, I was falling asleep smoking every blanket I have has burn holes in it, Im lucky I didnt burn my house down, I dont think my opiate addiction warranted 24 mg a day. through many a different drugs and diagnoses I was finally found to have adult ADD, I started vivanse while on the subs, it corrected my whole brain. things were great so I said time to ditch the subs, well it took two weeks for any thing to happen, I dont crave any drug at all but my motivation is GONE and if I try any kind of drug it is worthless. I wonder if the subs were helping my mood/depression. they wont prescribe subs for motivation but no amount of any drug compares. wonder what compares????

You seem to be quite unique in your genetic make up type maybe a super human of type. To not get sick when with drawing from suboxone is am absolute LIE statement if you are of our race of humans an opiate is an opiate is an opiate no matter weather it is natural or engineered they all make you hang when you stop. I have at times been on suboxone only taking doses that are beetween 2mg ang 16 mg for almost 5 years on and off I have had some quite large chunks of abstinence in that time and the one thing I know for a fact is that when i stop taking that c**p I stay sick for sometimes up to 2-3mths even when I wein down and jump off the lowest dose 0.4mg SICK SICK SICK so what ever speacial blood line you are let me have some of you DNA to splice and create a race of humans whome can become dependant on suboxone and not get sick when they try and stop (OH wait a minute is that a PARADOX)

i agree non-human...my story is i was taking subs for almost 2 years and tried to jump three or four time unsuccsessfuly of course so i did a long taper on 1 mil for a month then skipped a day took a 1 mil then two days and so on when i stopped totally the anxiety and depression and panic set in and i went to the emergency room and the put me in a mica unit for 5 days for observation while detoxing and at the end of 5 days i had minimal withdrawals and they didnt give me any meds just aspirin...when i got released i thought everything was going to be fine...and day 8 i went back in to withdrawal weirdly....couldnt sleep bad rls diarrhea real bad....now im on day 12 and still have withdrawal sympt...i will never ever touch another sub as long as i live...its a miserable money making drug.. only use it short term 5-7 days only..im telling you if taken long term it will do more harm then good..i cant wait to feel normal again...please talk to your dr if they want to keep you on it because the side effects are bad also...i would walk in to my drs office he would say how many you want? pay 150 cash only and the pharmacy would get around 3-4 hundred a month so i was spending 550 a month to feel miserable....even typing this is painful stay away from long term use of subs rekkitt benkiser who make the drug and also make lysol and air wick products have enough money....day 12 and still hurting but over the worst part and will never go back.....good luck to all

Hi Jen, praying u can give me a lil info. I have been taking lortab few years now, off/on. A year ago I got on sebutex and was taking 3 8mg a day. I had to quit cold turkey bc my Dr just shot out and I had no way to get anymore. I actually had cardiac arrest and was in the hospital for almost a month and they barely knew how to treat me bc they really didn't even know what sebutex/suboxone was. I eventually had gallbladder surgery and relapsed bc of the pain meds and been taking ever since. 5-7 lortab daily and don't want to do it anymore. So almost 48 hours after last pp, I took a quarter piece (1-2mg) of sebutex and all I did was throw up. I just wanted to take 1 or 2 to get me through my withdrawals. should have I taken a bigger dosage of it? I have 1- 8 mg left, how should I take it. I don't want to start vomiting again. thx for any info
