He’s been sited by the state of Texas for treating his family during emergency for longer than 72 hrs. 5000 fine then again in 2016. He’s not a straight up guy but will call you a liar if he’s having a bad day.

I agree with you

I have two friends that go to Dr. Theesfeld well, one now the other friend found a different doctor she could not tolerate him no longer.. anyways what I hear about him, he seems to be an abusive doctor and try’s to control everyone there and if you don’t do what he says he will discontinue you!! And he treats my friend terrible she has had nervous break downs in her past and needed to be on nerve medicine for the rest of her life because of them breakdowns and he gave her a choice to get off that or her pain medication so she had to discontinue taking her nerve meds which she desertly needs she’s heading for another nervous breakdown and he doesn’t help the matter at all the way he treats her when she’s in his office she feels so uncomfortable with him as her dr but can’t find another other one he needs to start respecting his pacientes and treat them the same as everyone instead of treating them all very badly only because of them taking pain medications that is what he is there for to help them not to criticize them if it don’t get any better

And now his son shot a young coed 8 times with his Glock and killed her. Great family, great role model.

Interesting that his son is charged with murder...

Dr. Theesfeld killed my father in 2001. He went to him for pain management and became addicted to hydracodone. Then he went to rehab and when he got out, my dad’s girlfriend and I called him and told him he was addicted and admitted to faking his ailments for pills. He responded “Ms. W****, do you have a ring on your finger?” We also had his mother call. He kept “treating” him and died of a combined drug overdose the next year. He deserves to be prosecuted for dealing drugs and manslaughter. I know my dad could not have been his only victim.

Give it time. He is a pill pusher. He has ppl performing procedures and passing meds with zero licenses. You’re health is in danger.

I had that done three times by him with a “nurse who had no license” give me meds prior, those procedures have made a one foot section of my back where I can no longer feel the skin on my back. My nerves are destroyed. I’m with another dr and gave her. For years and she is trying to fix what he destroyed. None of them there are any licensed medical nurses. They will lie on your chart. He will tell you to shut up after he clearly asked you a question. I hope to Hod you didn’t get those procedures done. You don’t know it quickly, but I’m not the only he destroyed their spinal nerves.

I'm very glad that you got such great results with Dr. Theesfeld. I, however, was not so fortunate. He was only rude to me a couple of times bc I challenged what he said or why he planned to do. I had already been dealing with the pain from 3 failed back surgeries for quite some time before I moved and had to find another doctor. What he prescribed at first was a complete change from what I'd been taking.. but I went along with it to see if it worked. I never had a problem with my meds being counted and I had to do a UA at every visit. But then one night, I took my meds as prescribed and went to bed (the sleeping pill always worked fast). I woke up 3 days later with much evidence that I'd been vomiting. As I was trying to clean up the mess, my daughter told me that on the night I'd remembered going to bed, she'd found me in the middle of the night pouring whiskey into my soda can and she said I told her it was just syrup. She also said I was taking my meds constantly the next day so she hid them from me. She said she had cleaned me up and cleaned up the mess several times and even brought a bucket into my room.. but I didn't remember any of it. As soon as I was able, I called Dr. T's office and he called back advising me not to take the sleeping pill.
One one visit, he was angry bc my last UA showed a different medication than he'd prescribed. I had to get the front office to bring him the paperwork showing what I had told him a month before.. I'd fallen and was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was given that particular medication in the hospital after telling the ER what meds I was on. During my time as his patient, I often heard him yelling at SOMEONE (patient or worker, I didn't know) that they were stupid if they didn't vote for ***** (presidential candidate). So, from then on I tried to steer clear of politics.
On another visit, he said my previous UA showed I hadn't been taking my meds, "... so either you've been selling them or you've over medicated and now you're out of meds." And he walked out of the room.. knowing that my meds were counted every time. Then he wrote scripts for my refills like nothing had happened.
On many occasions, Dr. Theesfeld told me that I had to write down how much better I was with his care (at the bottom of one of the forms). I exaggerated the truth bc I was no better under his care than under my previous doctor where I'd moved from. But I felt that if I didn't do as he said, he might drop me as a patient bc he had already dropped many Medicare patients by his own admittance.
He did injections in my back to "burn the nerves." It scared me but I went along with it. The first one helped for about 3 weeks. It didn't stop the pain, but it made the pain a bit more bearable. But the second injection was excruciating from the moment he inserted the needle, and I hurt so much worse than usual, he prescribed another medication for 2 months afterwards. He wanted to try a third injection, but I refused. He was angry and slammed the exam room door.
Dr. Theesfeld also forced patients to use a particular pharmacy when I first started seeing him, then abruptly gave patients the choice between 2 pharmacies. The first one wasn't in my Part D plan so I had to pay more for my meds. The other 2 often didn't have enough medication to fill my prescription and I'd have to make 2 trips to Longview (45 minutes one way) and sometimes had to go without meds for a day or two. I didn't think that was right.. to force us to use a particular pharmacy. I understand that, maybe, he was trying to make sure no one was getting more meds from another doctor or something but it seems to me that even a halfwit wouldn't use the same pharmacy for the same or similar meds. And when I saw my primary care physician, I got my antibiotics and blood sugar meds in the town she practiced in.
Ever since I was told I'd need surgery to remove 3 discs from my back, I would read everything I could find about back pain, therapies, back surgeries, etc. I found several articles that basically said that whatever pain or problems left from surgery at about the 10 year mark would be the final results most of the time; ie.. I'd probably not get any better. I have physical problems from the injury and from the back surgeries other than pain. So, I asked Dr. Theesfeld if I should wean off the meds to see exactly what was left and treat just that. He was very dismissive, was walking toward the door as I was speaking to him, then looked back over his shoulder, without even looking at me, and said "I don't think you can," and walked out the door.
He was kind at times, arrogant and dismissive at times, and angry at times. Once he was telling me about an issue he had with his son, and in his explanation of their conversation, he got so close inside my personal space that I became frightened and had a PTSD moment (I was a prison guard for many years). And in thinking about all of this and his words "I don't think you can," I became determined to do it on my own.. which caused me to be hospitalized for 3 weeks. Afterward, I moved closer to my original doctor and am taking less medication and lower dosages of narcotics.
Sometimes people just don't "get along" well together. And maybe that's some of the issues voiced here. But I DO know there is a problem in his practice from the things I've heard him say TO people and ABOUT people. Pressuring me to brag about how well I was feeling while in his care IN WRITING felt wrong to me, but I was afraid that if I didn't write it, that he would drop me and I'd have to find another doctor. Anyone who has had to do so knows that we get judged as pill seekers and labeled junkies. I truly believe he has a problem of some sort.. or maybe he's just a narcissist. I've worked for other PHD's that had that problem. And I did see other the staff changed often. I'm very happy for the people he has helped, but I completely understand the people who have had a bad time with this doctor. Some of his staff were wonderful because in the end, patients are customers.. and customer service is important. I only had issues with 2 members of his staff, but he caught the one who lied about me. Not sure what happened with the other one.
Personally, I'd never go back to him. But I believe my first surgeon was worse than Dr. Thersfeld... and his name is George Wharton

Have you ever HAD what you call "the come downs?" This person needs to be in a facility to help her/him detox. One doc told me that you can't die from withdrawals but you just FEEL like you will. I told him that he's incorrect bc I had to wear a heart monitor and have my BP checked every hour bc both would drop to dangerous levels then suddenly jump up to stroke level.

And I felt like my body was going to fly apart in a million pieces. My bones felt like they were on fire but I felt so cold I wor 2 shirts, 2 pants, a sweater and a blanket and laid on a bench in August in the south!

Please don't talk down to someone who is going through the worst hell in life having every emotion at the same time.. and trying to hold it all together.

I was a patient of his also, but left him and went back to my original doctor. I'd been gone from him about 2 years when a couple of very serious looking officials showed up at my home. Said they had gotten my name from his patient list and asked me a bunch of questions.

Did you get a visit from these VERY SERIOUS OFFICIALS (with badges)??

No.. I was mad bc he wouldn't help me wean off to see what pain I had from 3 failed back surgeries. AND, since I can barely walk at times, I asked him to fill out the paperwork for me to renew my handicap placard. He said he didn't believe in disability bc his grandmother has RA and still made her own bread every morning.

What's that got to do with my messed up spine? I know pain:
**had meningitis and stayed home on the couch throwing up for the first 3 days
**gave birth to a 7 lb, 7 oz baby when only dilated to 7 cm and had several tearing
**got hit by a car going 40 mph and laid on the couch for 6 weeks bc my skull was severely fractured and the damage was so bad I saw everything SLANTED.. before my eyes swelled shut.. and the only med I got was for nausea
** fell trying to move a 150 lb load with a dolly. Caught the dolly and the load when I fell on the concrete floor and compressed 2 discs so badly that when they were injected with dye, on x-ray they looked like spiders" webs'
**had kidney stones twice during my last 2 pregnancies.. couldn't take meds bc it might have harmed my babies
**first back surgery was a 360°, 3 level fusion requiring plates and screws. I screamed every time the nurses pulled me up in bed. When they tried to make me walk, I cried all 7 steps and my left leg wouldn't work. The weekend doctor told my family that I was "drug seeking." 2 days after I got home my doctor's PA called to see how I was. I told her that the pain meds didn't work and neither did my left leg. She told me not to take any pain meds and get back to the hospital immediately (3 hr drive). She said that one of the screws placed on the front of my vertebrae was on a nerve and had to be removed immediately. After the drive to the hospital I had to wait another 3 hours for my surgeon and his "team" to get there

So, please don't lump everyone in a group and disrespect them and act like their pain isn't real!!! I'm not angry anymore.. but I discourage people from going to Dr. Theesfeld for pain management and from Dr. George Wharton for spinal surgery
