I had a car accident 7 months ago, hit by a uninsured driver cutting through a parking lot totaled both our cars and it left me bleeding lightly with cramping.  The ER ran CT w/contrast & it reflected fibroid tumors, I underwent a hysterectomy plus removing both ovaries & cervix.  I am one week shy of my 3 mos post op, have had no intercourse and still bleeding lightly with cramping although I became very lightheaded over the weekend, I really thought I was going to pass out.  I am not sure what is going on with my body but I am becoming a bit concerned.  Doc said that the spotting could last for 3 months.

I started bleeding today after a FULL hysterctomy 10 years ago! The answer at the beginning of the forum makes the most sense to me, vaginal dryness causing cracking thus bleeding and/or a hormone deficiency. I am having issues there & just discovered that Armour Thyroid isn't good for you. It feels like speed & makes my heart race. I don't like any Pharmaceutical drugs & take None & have been pretty healthy! Only when I take Rx do I get worse, the more I take, the worse I feel and the worse part, is that it's insidious & shortens life span & causes long-term damage because it DOES NOT HEAL< just masks the symptoms! I wonder sometimes if people even know that! I just discovered a book yesterday I want to order called "Stop the Thyroid Madness" There's something in our environment, water, food, etc. that's causing these issues because when my automatic re-order of the Thyroid (for Hypo) wasn't called in & I called the pharmacy, they were OUT! So I was going to drive to the next one in another city & THEY only had enough for a partial refill! So even the CHAIN pharmacies can't keep up with the Supply and Demand!

I'm not bleeding much, but enough to need a thin panty liner. Just the fact that it's blood scared me as I don't have anything anymore! If it is a cyst, I'm not worried, if it's cancer, I'm not worried because the cure is only $30.  (Essiac Tea) I found the cure for Endometriosis, which is WHY I even had the stupid hysterectomy is NATURAL PROGESTERONE. I also know that surgeries cause more & more scare tissue, make sure you massage it as soon as the surgery has healed because a friend had emergency surgery recently from SCAR TISSUE that BLOCKED AN ORGAN! She had to have that organ REMOVED! And it can block your bowels, colon & cause LOTS of PROBLEMS later on, while the surgeon or physician is having a nice comfy life , we are left with long-term residual side affects that could have been easily prevented! Also, there's several books out, the initial one that sparked the others is called, "What your dr. never told you about menopause"

I do not trust doctor's anymore, especially after experiencing cures and others I know being cured from STage 4 Cancer after onconologist(s), more than one, traveled out of town for 2nd opinions to area reknown for great medical system, still gave her only months to live & she was cured in 2 months! I've seen it time & time again, I've also seen those who didn't drink the Essiac Tea, die because they wouldn't even try it! They sure bought everything else though! It shrinks masses, tumors, cysts, etc. She had a very aggessive cancer, Small Cell Carcinoma...Lung cancer...healed completely...2 months!

If a doctor gets intimidated by your knowledge of naturopathic medicine, or your questions of naturopathic medicine, fire them.  Something told me to get medical records from primary from last decade & discovered he had put negative comments about my seeing a naturopath and also going online to read medical information & research (He didn't know I have medical professionals, dr.s in my immediate family) and he discredited me & tried to make me look like I was mentally ill! I was shocked! He thought because I hadn't seen him in 2 years (was healthy) he asssumed I was seeing other physicians in the community & even noted it in my medical records! He got fired! I will go online & also give him a bad rating to warn others. Watch the Katie Couric show of things that are happening in the medical community, we should always take our health in our own hands & get 2nd & 3rd opinions and research our own symptoms, talk to other people, forums are invaluable & they should be for the patients, not the doctors, if a website seems to be biased for the dr.'s benefit and not the patients, boycott them and start one or use another. Doctor's should respect us for being educated, concerned & questioning any diagnosis or prognosis. If they don't, then they should not get our business.

I too have recently started having problems. I had a total hysterectomy 13 years ago due to endometreosis and ovarian cysts. They first tried to remove the endometreosis by lazer and drained and corterized the cyst. They both came back with in a months time so I had the total hysterectomy (removed uterus, both ovaries, and cervics). It has been 13 years now & this morning i woke up about 3am and had a large amount of bright red blood from my vaginal cavity. I didnt even actually go to the potty, I just wiped and wiped and wiped until I got myself clean. So the blood did not come from with in my urine or from stool. It was from where you would place a tampon if you were menstrating. At that same time I was nausious and actually did vomit and then I noticed the blood. I haven't bleed anymore yet but I have cramping like I'm on my cycle which i haven't had in over 13 years. I feel very full and I am very bloated and have alot of lower abdomon pain on the right side and pressure like I have a balloon blown up in my apendix area. I actually thought that was what was wrong with me until I started reading everyones stories. Some ladies have said their doctor is diagnoising kidney stones. But I have had over 8 kidney stones in the past year that had to be removed by surgery because they got lodged or stuck in my urithrea. And this is not feeling like a kidney stone and believe me I think I would know all about kidney stones I'm what they call a " Stone Maker". Besides bleeding from stones causes blood in the urine not in the vaginal cavity. So another woman wrote that she had the same hysterectomy as me total with no ovaries or cervics. She wrote that her doctor said she had endometreosis in the cuff of her vagina, which I can only guess that it is the same area that I'm calling the vaginal cavity. this area is where you would insert a tampon or where the penus goes during sex. But dont understand because when I had my hysterectomy I read a pamphlet about endometreosis and it explained that its caused by menstrual blood settling on the lining of your uterus. And now that I haven't had a menstrual cycle in 13 years I dont understand how endometreosis could form. the one thing one this site and this topic that I'm finding very annoying is that nobody has listed a reasonable diagnosis for an actual doctor. I would like to know what happened after everyones doctors appointments but no one is following back up with their original post. Would someone please follow up to what has happened to them since they saw the doctor. And I promise I will follow up after every doctors appointment in regards to this issue so we can share the information because there is alot of women with this issue and it actually scares me that no one has replied back I hope no had life threatening issues. I will go to my doctor tomorrow 3-2-13 please use the link to follow my post if you want an actual doctors report regarding this issue from beginning to end I will post my findings. you can also email me at

I see people keep asking the same question and thought I would fill you in on what I know. I just had a hysterectomy but kept ovaries and cervix. If you choose to keep your cervix a small percent of people will continue to have light spotting.

Hope that helps at least some of you. I would probably be a little concerned if it only happened many years after, but it is probably fairly normal for some of you with more recent hysterectomies.

I had same problem.. Bleeding after six years from hysterectomy from vaginal cuff. Went to see gyn-ob. It is granular tissue probably caused by vaginal dryness. I had hysterectomy due to cancer . Was worried it returned. However, I understand this is rare. I had silver nitrate treatment. I understand vitamin e suppositories and taking cod liver oil pills works well. Hope this helps..

Hi TLDOZ, I'm sorry I dont have an answer for you but I have had the same thing happen to me recently as well. Had full hysterectomy almost 4 months ago, Dr kept ovaries but took tubes. Having intercourse with my husband I've noticed bleeding after as well. I had pain accompanied with this but pain goes away fairly quickly, I would say 15 minutes after intercourse. I'm not sure if this is something to be alarmed about? My husband & i have had sex twice since hysterectomy and had same reaction with bleeding both times. If it keeps up I guess I will have to bring it up to Dr not just for the bleeding aspect of it but as well as having pain during intercourse as well. I will pray that things get better for you, please keep me posted on how you are doing. God bless :) 419lexus

5 years I had a partial hysterectomy, keeping my cervix and both ovaries.  Starting yesterday, I have had terribly menstrual cramps and bleeding.  My lower back and abdomen are tender and sore.  I haven't had sex within the last 5 days either.

I had a hysterectomy in June 2013( uterus and cervix removed) ovaries still in tact.....I started bleeding this morning after sex....haven't had any problems with bleeding until now. For the last week I've been feeling like I was going to have a period, I have some abdominal cramping but nothing like what it was prior to surgery. I see from others posts that it's not uncommon but I will be seeing my Dr ASAP I had pre-cancerous spots removed from my cervix several times and I still worry about cancer good luck everyone
