i had a partial hysterectomy (leaving my ovaries and cervix), around march of 2005. i started having cyclical bleeding about 6 months later. the spotting and cramping began to worsen each month. My gyn suggested to cauterize my cervix to end the annoyance of the spotting. i did so on Oct. 24th of 2006. last night as i went to urinate all of this blood came out of my vagina. it was a stream and then something came out of me and then continued bleeding like a faucet. mu hubby thought the 'something' may have been a blood clot. i just need to know if anyone has had anything similar to my situation? it had me very scared. i'm waiting for a return call from my doc office.
thanks,
~S.
I had a similar problem, happened after my Colposcopy. Lost lot and lots of blood + I has clots (big pieces) - I went to my OBGYN and she cauterized it. You should go to her asap though, I have been told it wasn't anything tooooo bad, but I dont like and dont trust my docs - so just go to the doc asap.

My wife had something similar happen. I am actually trying to find help here. She had an emergency C Section to deliver our baby girl. 4 days later I had to call 911 because she was bleeding from her vagina. There was blood everywhere. The doctors did a partial hysterectomy in an attempt to save her. The problem was an artery in the cervix so they "tied it off". almost 20 units of blood were used durring the surgery.

3 months later it happened again. This time there was more blood and she was losing it faster than before. She was in shock by the time she got to the hospital and almost died. she took 3 units of blood in less than an hour. The doctors embalized a bunch of blood vessels but couldn't find the main source because it had stopped on it's own. She is scared to be sent home because this could happen again.
