That's what I was told you don't need it, it's not important. Well than why did God put it in mine and everyone else's body!?

I had my gall bladder removed almost six years ago while I was pregnant with my son. Sometimes at lest once or twice a month I get severe pain that hurts so bad I cry. I vomit and my stomach swells up to look like im nine months pregnant. Also it hurts if you touch my stomach near the belly button. The hospital cant find nothing wrong and give me medicine that never helps ao I dont take it anymore. I dont even go to the hospital anymore I just get on all fours and cry. Please someone help me find out whats wrong with me. I cant take it and the doctors dont know what it is.

Research SIBO (small intestine baceterial overgrowth) to see if your symptoms correspond.  I had SIBO for a year after laprscopy.  It is commonly misdiagnosed as IBS.

Digestive enzymes and probiotics at night.

For everyone who is searchin the internet before their Lap Chole I think you should know that what you read here is always what happens in the worst case scenario. I have had my gallbladder out along with my sister, mother, 3 aunts, 2 uncles and both grandmothers. Thats 10 people and none of us have ever experienced in things like what I'm reading here. I mean sure theres pain and discomfort for the first while but do remember, the surgeon did cut you open and remove and organ! Of course its going to take some time to adjust! Since my surgery I have dropped from a size 16 to 8, no bloating. Don't blame the doctors for your bloating. They are giving you relief from the awful pain of gallstones, which I lived with for 5 months, and trying to help you live a normal life. So if you're scared to have a Lap Chole, don't be! It's a fairly quick and reasonably painfull procedure and I've never ever heard of any of the side effects I'm reading online! You'll be fine.

I wonder if they left some of the gas they have to use for the surgery. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and I have bloated for a few days. Me Dr was concerned about bloating. I ended up staying in Hosp for 3days. My stomach is flatter now then before surgery.

Please, with me it is the same. From size medium/small I can only use Large and Extra Large. It is real insane that we do not go before and we do not have any treatment after the surgery. It sounds the question is the LIVER. Better to consult a specialist in Liver Fat. I am searching too......

So do you still take 4 a day or just in the beginning?

I'm here to tell you I went through the same thing with the bloating and gas and nothing would relieve it. I bought every kind of medicine & tried ever kind of suggestion, walking, yoga moves, rocking back & forth, back rubs. What a PA told me to buy some Prune juice and heat it up and so I drank 1 cup and the gas and bowels were moving within 10 minutes and then another 15 min. releasing alot of gas & sludge coming from my stomach & intestines. It really works, trust me try it and she said if that didn't do the fleets enema and didn't need it. So I drank another cup of hot prune juice and it keep me going all night releasing the gas and bloated feeling and all the c**p in between. Hope this helps you or anyone because I was in constant pain for 17 days.

Has anyone asked a DR if this GB removal severing the vagus nerve connection from the GB to the Stomach is causing gastroparesis? This bloating thing sounds like an epidemic of GP like symptoms... Just a thought from outside of the box...

I too had my gall bladder removed and for the first few months things seemed to be working just fine.  It was during the spring and I was very active with work, gardening and working out.  I had an hour lunch and would take an hour power walk every day.  Life seemed great.  Then I changed jobs, was forced to take a 30 min lunch and spend most of the day at my desk.  Fall and winter and my life became very sedentary.   Due to my job I often have to work 12-16 hour days due to inclement weather.  Less and less exercise, but my diet was the same.  About a year later I started experiencing bloat, pain, acid reflux.  I have always eaten 'clean' and never had indegestion problems.  I too have been fooled by the folk lore of not missing my gall bladder.  What I have noticed and I think is most important is the fact that EXERCISE seems to be the key.  Smaller meals, exercise and lack of stress seem to help at the moment.
