Hi im jamie! and I am 15 years old and i know for sure that it is a boil.... see i have one now and this is my 5th one i dont know how they keep coming up but i know they hurt like heck!!!! i recently went to the doctor and they told me that is was a boil and i had to get it removed but that's only because it i was it was getting to big and it wasn't popping. so they had to drain it and it was about 2 teaspoons of puss loaded in that sucker.but after they drained it, it relieved a lot of pressure and i could walk again .although it took at lease 2 weeks to heal. like they said just keep the area dry and clean and also keep a warm towel on it and wear cotton panties! hopefully i helped with future references (:
I have gotten this all the time since I was 13 years old -I am now 46! It is caused by an allergy to the LATEX found in pads and tampons which is in ALL OF THEM unless you specifically purchase ones WITHOUT LATEX online and those are EXPENSIVE!

I just went to the Dr today for my annual pap n i had a sebaceous cyst. Thats what mopst of you have unless you shave frequently then it may be an ingrown hair. She said to wash with anti-bacterial soap. Stay away from body washes which cause your skin to remain oily. When i get them which is usually after intercourse due to repeated rubbing in that area i soak in a hot tub, wash with antibacterial soap then pat dry. SOmetimes they get terribly painful n when i push on them a little it pops and pus and blood come out. I try not to pop them unless it is too painful but i cant help it. Hope this helps.
This sounds almost certainly like herpes. It's not a big deal, so don't freak out. I'm saying this because
1. menstruation triggers outbreaks
2. the sores itch
3. the viral infection will affect your whole body, thus the fever
This is very easy to control, with mediation, dietary changes, and paying attention to lifestyle triggers. Think of it this way: Once you get it diagnosed (a doctor will probably swab it), you can start living your life again and stop thinking you're nuts!
Be well, and all the best.
...Just to add a note, one can indeed catch herpes without sexual contact. If more people realized this, we would 1. cut down on infections by being aware of our surroundings, ie unclean, warm, moist tanning beds and 2. not attach such a terrible stigma to the most common STD after HPV. :-)
Also, I have had an ingrown hair in the crevice before. I know what that feels like. I also understand herpes symptoms, and it doesn't sound like yours is an ingrown.
You can live a happy and full sex life with this.
