I just had surgery 2 days ago. So far I've had considerable post-op pain.

I would not do both feet at the same time again.

I feel your pain! Two years post-op and my foot is still so swollen it is a problem buying shoes. Had I known the outcome, I would have NEVER had the surgery. Also, the pain is still there that I went in to have surgery for. So it was a waste of time, plus now I have one foot a half size bigger than the other because of swelling. Wish I could help better, but I can't. :(

I had this surgery in November 2015... It is now June of 2016 and I still have some pain along the side of my big toe . My Doctor wants to do the same surgery on my left foot....no way...will I do this again unless I am unable to walk.

It's nice to read this. I need this surgery and reading the other posts are freaking me out. I have a high tolerance for pain (two natural childbirths) so I'm hopeful my experience will be similar to yours.

I am experiencing the same thing. I did do some research and read where it could be up to six months as far as pain and healing. However, I kind of had that tought too it I should have done the surgery or not. My doctor was excellent I had hardly any pain during the day or days after surgery. It is only when I was able to start bending my toe. I am weaning myself back into my shoes now which has been about two weeks. I was concerned like you, that the pain is at the base of the big toe and up through my arch. My thinking is maybe because my foot has to get use to being in shoes and taking on that shape from where I had to wear the boot and flat sandals. Nevertheless, I make myself walk and been as normal dispite to pain. God blessing..

Had same surgery in June. Great new joint, BUT worse pain at base of second toe, can't walk w/o pain. Doc says it's from redistribution of weight, walking funny prior to surgery. Makes no sense to me. Says it may go away in time. We'll see. Not happy. How are you now?

I am supposed to have a bone spur removed from the top of my foot next month. I'm wondering how yours ended up going and if you have any regrets. My pain stopped a week ago, but I still have a few numb toes. Should I just live with numb toes?

Hello I had a bone spur removal in the back of my right heel also a tendon surgery almost a year ago. At first it hurt really bad then at about the 6th month it started hurting again, the dr said it wasn't quite a year but now it hurts so much that I think I may put my boot back on I guess I'll call the dr but did anyone else ever have this much pain like this much after the foot surgery?

I had surgery and I agree with the above. I was told I could be on my feet in 3-4 days, and I'm going on 3 weeks and finally getting a little flexibility and walking somewhat normal. The biggest advantage so far has been that the big ball is not running against my shoe and causing nerve pain and discomfort. I'm very glad I did it and would recommend the same. Recovery time is approx 5-6 weeks. Those the 3-4 days out the window.

I have had the same kind of surgery a little over two weeks ago. The doctor told me the same thing, that he only took a small spur off and it should heal quickly. I am a runner and i can not even get my running shoe on. I see your post was over a year ago, please tell me how long it took you to heal.
