What do you do when both of the peoplke in the relationship are addicted to different things??
This shouldn’t be a problem, from my point of view. Well, to be honest, it depends on what things that you are addicted to you are talking about. Is it the matter of hobbies or is it something else? I’ll give you my personal example to explain why I do think being addicted to different things could be a good thing.
Me and my husband were at home whole days long, we were together 24/7 and we just needed some time apart otherwise we would just freak out one by another so having our own hobbies was a good way out as we would then separate from each other and we would both mind our own business, that was just a relaxation and enjoying our own things.
This is my personal experience and I know that this is one positive attitude as the matter of having different addictions in a relationship, not that I’m saying it has no disadvantages but I just had a positive experience with it. I hope you will find the best way for you two..

was addicted to painkillers for about 5 1/2 months. I started taking them just at work. Then i was doing them everyday for the last 2 months. It never really got too bad. I never really exceeded more then 2000 milligrams (Or two Thousand mg vicodens or percocet) of codein or, if i had it 20 miligrams of oxycontin. I snorted them sometiems but i really didnt like doing that so i just started popping 20 milligrams of oxy or a couple 2 or three vicoden a day just to motivate me. (But only 20-30 milligrams of oxy a day or 2 or 3 vicodens a day, never both on the same day)

My question is could i have doesn any serious irreversable damage to my lungs because i have a history of asthma. My asthma has been under control for the last 4 or 5 years with drugs like advair and singulair but i just want to know if i'm gonna dies in the next five years or when im 30 or forty. BTW I'm 19 and I also exercise and lift weights. I played organized sports ever since i was 7 when i was diagnosed with asthma. I just want to know if i've screwed myself bad. I've been off for about a week now and not going back for fear of death.

I've been perscribed vicoden before and even percocet one time for an ankle injury. Although when i was addicted i never exceeded the recommended dosage for the specific drugs, i would still like to know.

thank you so very very much

Sorry for the late answer.

If you are asthmatic as you said, please dont snort the stuff..You are suffering an addiction, this does not make you a bad person in anyway, it just means you battle with addiction. Try ever so slowly weaning yourself off the pain killers, do it gradually. You have to do this for yourself, even if your partner is addicted to something. Please just thing for yourself here.

You are only 19,.,, your body at 19 has amazing staying power,,If you continue doing this for years and years, it will only be harder.

Try not putting yourself in situations that you are used to, do different things to distract yourself. I will listen to you and advise you if you need it.

Good luck , you can do this
