I agree with this post ! in 2008 the general doctor thought it might have been a fungal infection but it turned out that it was not. in 2010 I decided to check with another general physician and said that it was normal but I was concerned since it was growing as time went by. In 2013, before my father's insurance expired, I check again with another family physician and said that it was nothing. He told me to check with a urologist/surgeon. The surgeon said he could remove the first two skin laser of my foreskin only I was concerned about the look but it was really not necessary. He joke about the issue and said that I was not going to die. The same day I went to see a well-known Dermatologist and he said that there was no problem. The Dermatologist said, "you are brown and it is not unusual so don't worry." He said that it was not cancer but it would be a great idea to check every 4 or 5 months just for piece of mind. He also said that he could do a bio-opt but he said it would be really painful and he personally would not do it. I hope this helps and if you have brown patches that grow over time, just learn to cope with them. For piece of mind, check with two general doctors and a dermatologist. I am 26 fyi!

Is it dry skin? A moisturizer like Man1 Man Oil could help with that. Best to get diagnosed if you're not sure -- could just be natural skin tone variation.

Is there any reason you ONLY refer to it as a "John Thomas",instead of using the medically correct term "penis"? Sorry,I just couldn't help but notice you avoided saying the proper term, kind of like how a kid only says "peepee" or a similar variant.

But how do you not get embarrassed if anyone (mainly a sexual partner) were to notice it and/or tell people about it?

Hello all,

I have a few, very light brown-colored patches near the base of my foreskin (i am circumcised). They are pretty flat and aren't bumpy. Does anyone else have or have had this happen to them?

I am a 49 year old white guy. I was circumcised when I was about 12 due to a tight foreskin. Before then, I had a perfectly normal penis in every way, often played with it and as a young boy was very proud of it. Maybe 6 months or so after the circumcision, I found what looked like a small (maybe 3mm) brown "freckle" on the head of my nice pink penis. Over time, more and more "freckles" appeared on the head. No irritation at all just visually unpleasing and very concerning to me. The spots looked especially obvious when my penis was flaccid. When erect, the freckles were much less obvious as the head expanded and filled with blood.
Today, more of my head is covered in brownish coloured "freckles"/marks than what is pink. Over the years the marks have multiplied and grown/spread into each other. Before I got married at 23, I went to a sexual health doctor and he said that it was nothing to be concerned about although he never actually told me what my condition was.
I have been very worried about the appearance of my penis my whole teen/adult life but in reality, I have had plenty of partners and it has never been an issue - only in my own head.
