I had the same problem at your age. At around 17 I started getting sick every morning. This lasted 4 years! I went to see doctors that told me to sit up when I sleep and to not eat greasy foods. Other than that they all brushed it off that I was complaining about a little tummy ache.

I finally went to see a gastro specialist and had probably one of those scans that you had. I can't remember what it was called but I had to lay flat on a board for an hour. They injected some dye in me and then this thing scaned around my mid section. Turns out I had to have my gallbladder removed. When they took it out my surgen said it was completely scar tissue and that he felt sorry for me because I must have been in extreme pain.

Its been 4 years since my surgery and at first I felt better. However I am back to having stomach pains again. Whenever I eat something my stomach cramps up really bad to the point that I want to curl in a ball and die.

I have thhis problem as well. As I type this post from my blackberry its 7:50 in the morning and I'm laying here with nausea. I repeat this every morning. But I've developed a solution. There are these little tums like chewables made specifially for nausea. I wake up, chew two of them, and the nausea goes away in five minutes. It works every single time. I can be just about to actually vomit, if I chew two the urge is gone. Try these, you can get them from walmart. Hope they help, I'm sure they will!

I am 115 lbs., 5'10", and 18 years old . Every single morning of my life I wake up with a terrible nausea. This usually happens anywhere from 6-9 A.M., although when it started I used to be able to sleep through it.

It started January 2007. I woke up one morning, went to school, and after I went to my first class I had to run to the bathroom and vomit profusely. After that I went home and shrugged it off.

But it never went away. My school nurse started getting aggravated with me so I stopped going to her and just threw up in the school bathroom every now and again, whenever the nausea was that bad. I didn't ALWAYS throw up, but I did ALWAYS have nausea in the morning.

After a couple weeks of this I saw my doctor. I got a blood test which came up negative. I was sent to a specialist who told me to stop drinking acidic drinks and gave me an endoscopy which also came up negative. However, he said I had been throwing up so frequently/violently that I had somehow forced bile back up into my stomach which was most likely the problem and would most likely go away. It didn't, and I never saw him again. He had me on Prilosec every morning, but it didn't help. I gave up for a bit and decided to just deal with the problem on my own.

A few months later after finding a bulls-eye on me I was tested positive for lyme disease. The reason I mention this is because the specialist I saw prescribed me with doxycycline, saying it was a "stronger antibiotic" and would "help me with my acne." But couldn't it have killed off all the beneficial bacteria in my stomach?

Months later I decided my morning nausea wasn't going to go away on its own so I went back to my doctor who sent me to another specialist. This time I had a CT scan of my brain, upper GI and small bowl series which all came back negative. I never had a follow up with this specialist because he stopped taking my insurance and now refuses to see me.

Months later, (only about a month back from today), my dad convinced me to go to a health foods store and see what they had to say. They recommended I take a capsule of plant enzymes before each meal or whenever I feel sick. They didn't work.

I am not someone who has trouble dealing with stress or anxiety. Of course I get them, but now when I get them, my stomach gets worse feeling than it used to. Aside from the morning, I basically have the same stomach as everyone else except if something happens that would bother a normal person's stomach slightly it bothers mine terribly. I used to never have a problem with fried food, fast food, spaghetti sauce, orange juice, or soda except now they are completely eliminated from my diet. I can't eat breakfast (I can usually start eating around 11ish), and I refuse to eat or drink anything after 8:00 P.M.

I hate to sound drastic but this problem is ruining my life. I hate the smells of food, and eating, and my friends mock me for this. Having always been a skinny kid, I wanted to gain weight but now I have to follow that plan to gain weight in order to simply maintain the pathetic 115 pounds I am now. Every morning for what lasts from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours, I have to go through a strict meditation process I invented to deal with the pain and reduce my chances of vomiting while everyone else is snoozing.

I'd like to describe an average morning for me with associated pains in case you guys want to know my symptoms a little better:

I wake up anywhere from 6-9. The nausea comes about 10-15 seconds after I wake up. The discomfort is usually all over my abdominal area under my belly button. It's usually associated with intestinal cramps, uncomfortable gurgling, or occasionally, heartburn. I always have to urinate very very badly, and once I do I feel slightly better. I'll go into the bathroom, and depending on how bad it is I'll either vomit or at least try to have some sort of bowel movement. If I vomit, I'll feel a little better right afterward but then the nausea will come back and last a lot longer, usually with a lot of gurgling going on. If I vomit in the morning I pretty much can't eat for the rest of the day. If I don't vomit, I'll sit on the toilet and fight cramps. I'll feel really constipated, and only be able to get a little out. My stool is usually yellow/grayish and claylike- never solid but definitely not diarrhea. After this I'll feel slightly better, and I'll go find a place to fight it off (never laying down, that makes it worse). Eventually it goes away. Then I'll either go back to sleep or just stay awake.

Sometimes I end up on my computer after it all happens. Recently, I started looking around on the internet to see if there might be a medical site with a solution. What I actually found was a good amount of message boards with people posting either the exact same or a very similar problem. However, all these posts have something in common- no answer!

I realize this post is very long but I wanted to be as detailed as possible.

Thanks!-

I am experiencing the same thing. Every morning I get up and vomit - now its so habitual its almost like a relief and release to get up and start vomiting but at the same time - I hate it. Its starting to really get in the way of my life and I notice I cannot drink alcohol without almost instantly feeling sick. I do notice that I have alot of anziety and knots in my stomach and so for the last few years have just written it off as bad anziety. I did go on Zoloft for a while since I was going through a divorce and was literally throwing up every time I ate and at all hours of the day and night. It did help but I couldn't handle how numb it made me feel so I went off of it. Slowly, it has crept back into my life - strange thing is though - when I truly feel at peace and happy then I notice I don't have the vomiting. I really wonder if my anziety and stomach go hand and hand. I am reading all kinds of books about happiness and peace and when I really focus on being in that moment and controlling my thoughts - I do feel a peace even in my stomach. I know I am going on and on here but I truly understand everyones frusteration. It is a really hopeless feeling but I am making the decision today to start saying positive affirmations and speak peace and love into my life and stomach and have faith that I am healed from this. To all of you out there, experiencing the same thing - may you be blessed with peace as well.

Well my boyfriend had these symptoms for 15 years and he is now 31. He is tired of Doctors and eveyone telling him it is anxiety. I did my own research on intestinal parasites/ candida. It is the only thing i can imagine they haven't tested for and don't test for. So I did more research and found that these can be fixed with NEEM LEAF capsules at your vitamin store. It doesn't seem the doctors can figure out or care to since he has been going through this forever and it is always psychiatrist for anxiety etc. Well, I figured, Hey it is worth a try! He has not had nausea for 3 days now! I just wanted to share this with you because I know how horrible it is for him. I couldn't stand it if it was me. IT may not be the cause, but why not try since it is natural herbs. I also got him probiotics to help with bacteria in his stomach and the nausea that he has. HE is taking both right now. Hope this helps some of you. P.S. the parasites/worms can also release a toxin that causes anxiety and many other symptoms.. Please look into it.

I am sorry to say that this is how I feel too! I have been dealing with this for the last decade. The illness, timeframe, and tests all sound so familiar its especially depressing. My Aunt is in her 50's and has lived with this since her twenties. The only thing that we have found that offers a little repreive is to suck on mints. Her favorite is wintergreen and mine is peppermint. The only difference in your symptoms from mine is that mine sets in especially harsh if I wake between 4-7am and I get diarrhea instead of vomitting.

I am seeing a new physician on Thursday... if there is anything new, I will be sure to post!

Keep this going, guys. Anyone who vomits every morning right after waking up NEEDS to give details.
My friend has this symptom and I am worried for his health.
He does not eat very often, he stays hydrated, and he smokes marijuana daily.
I've seen the link to marijuana in other threads, and I'm interested as to whether those inflicted share his habit.

I also smoke, but have never experienced such terrible symptoms.

Yep another person here with the same problem.

I usually dry-heave as I don't have much in my stomach in the morning - but I'll dry heave until the bile comes up. Once the bile is out, my body seems to be "ok" and I can move on with my day. The common denominator here seems to be the bile; some days I'll dry heave for ten minutes, other days for literally less than a minute - but it's always until the bile comes up. What is up with my bile that my body wants it out every morning? My digestive patterns tend to be more diarrheal, and I rarely take large & solid number twos anymore. Appetite goes down, now I can't really eat until noon or later.

In the evenings I've switched my diet around completely, and can say it's not food-related. I've had non-gluten foods for dinner and will still be throwing up the next morning.

Here's the really weird thing: I smoke cannibis almost every day (to help with unrelated issues). While it helps with many of my issues, it certainly doesn't help with the nausea. In fact, when I'm nautious in the morning and smoke, it almost instantly induces the vomiting. This makes me wonder if the previous poster who spoke of "extreme nausea caused by cannabinoids" has any merit to it. My symptoms really line up with what most everyone else here has said though, so I don't think the cannabis creates the issue, but I have gathered that it won't help my nausea issue.

I've spent thousands on doctors and research for this over the years - all a waste of money. I do believe that it is related to stress & anxiety, but I don't know what else I can take to alleviate this. Like I said I already use Cannabis almost every day. Used to be on prozac constantly too; guess I'm just a wreck of a person that I need all these things to basically function every day.

I'm going to try some of the suggestions in this thread one by one and see if any of them specifically help me. It would be great if there was a good doctor in my area to help though; most just send you for the usual bloodwork, xray/MRI, etc - and it costs $$ to tell me what I already know - that you won't "see" anything.

My son is 19. Always complained about stomach pain but the last two or three months have been the worse. He has been in the hospital twice, with abdominal pain (especially in the mornings), nausea, and throwing up (bile). They have done ultrasound, cat scan, upper and lower GI, all negative...When the blood work came back, his c- reactive protein were supper high, which means there was some kind of inflammation in the body, such as an infeccion. I was reading that is rises above normal within 6 hours and peaks at 48. I think in order to get a good reading it would have to be during the time your not feeling well. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have this same problem! I'm actually googling for help, as I'm just quitting a very regular marijuana habit of +6 yrs that I partially took up to deal with this problem (no one believes me, but it's true; MJ took care of the nausea beautifully). however now the bear's eating me instead of the other way around and I've quit it, but the nausea has come back with a vengeance. sometimes it starts late at night and then I have an awful night and wake up still feeling pukey.

before the MJ the only thing that worked (and you won't believe this either, or think it gross, but I don't care because I'll sign in as anon) was masturbating --and just so you know, I'm a female. orgasm does something to blood flow or something and it usually makes the dicomfort go away enough for me to get up and get going. however I'd like for the nausea to just stop. it's not cool.

it's overwhelming to find out how many people have this same problem, though.

I've always had it, I had my gallbladder removed when I was 22 years old. I don't know if that counts for anything. my digestive system has always been my undoing.....

thanks for reading.

i go through the same kind of things every morning: nausea, BMs, not being able to eat until the afternoon. Even drinking a sip of water would sometimes make me throw up in the morning. I just went to my dr about it and she referred me to a specialist but said i had an eating disorder. i dont think i have an eating disorder and ive never ever had a problem with the way i look. i love(d) having curves but i lost so much weight all people have to say to me is how skinny i look. its that i feel so sick and nauseous that i barely ever want to eat. its horrible. i haven't went to the specialist yet because i am scared of getting a tube stuck down my throat to see if somethings wrong with my stomach. this has been happening about a year now and i have been self medicating trying to deal with it.

one thing that would help all of your guys symptoms is marijuana. makes your nausea go away, makes your stomach feel better, calms you down, and eases anxiety.

and for me it works extremely well because it makes me hungry and ever since i saw my dr i have been trying to have a regular diet and eat more and healthier too so i can gain some of my weight back and look "normal" again

Are you lactose intolerant? This sounds similar to my mornings. I found out at about ten years old that I have a strange type of lactose intolerance. I'd have my milk and cereal in the morning only to become ill within a few minutes. If I vomited, it was quite a violent episode and would pass quickly, but sometimes, I could hold it in (not wanting to throw up as it could be so violent) and the feeling of illness wouldn't pass as quickly. The strange part is that once I have this bout of lactose intolerance, I won't have it again until the next day (or after several hours of sleep). The doctors I've seen don't usually run into my strange intolerance, but there it is.
