It looks like I may need to have bunion surgery but before I do I started my research . I know someone that decided to have invasive bunion surgery. She actually walked right after the surgery was done and was able to run on her tread mill a week later. No crutches , scooter etc. the problem is most if not all insurance companies do not cover it.  It's expensive and if you can't afford it you are out of luck. Does not seem fair at all.

Hi, this is great information. Thank you! Can you please let me know who your doctor is who preformed the Chevron ostetomy?

thank you for your information. I have seen many arthropods over the years as I have been contemplating bilateral bunion surgery, I now have three consults with pediatric surgeons and will check their qualifications before deciding on one. Your post convinced me. thanks again!

Need bunion surgery on both feet. Debating between doing both at once or doing them seperately. Know friends that have done them both ways. Any thoughts?

More importantly, looking for the best Dr in Los Angeles, to do this type of surgery. Does anyone have any rec's? Or could you give me an idea of how to find the best Dr? I've read reviews online but they are hit or miss and can be confusing.

Thank you so much! I've been wrestling with this decision; podiatrist or orthopedist for my bunion surgery. The pain is not going to get better without surgery and I've delayed it long enough. Your post helped me with my decision. Hope you're enjoying a better quality of life post surgery.

Let me tell you, podaitrist did mine ( right and left within a year), 10 years later they both are back even though I have a screw in my right foot big toe and actually my right foot is worst than before the surgery. I'm considering doing it again since all the pain and discomfort of wearing shoes is back 100% !
Everybody told me it's coming back I did not believe it, but do we other choices? No... so this time I'm going to an orthopedic surgeon, just for a change !!!
