Just wanted you all to know that I had the same chest pains and burping for 8 months. Drs couldn't figure out what was wrong until I was finally diagnosed with lupus. Pluerisy is a common factor in lupus.

There is a muscle that most doctors don't think about. I forget the name but it starts under the swallowing point in your throat and runs into the upper leftside of your chest aand effects a lot of the nerves in your left arm.

Hi there,
I've had these types of issues (feels like a rod through the chest that can't let you take a full breath, numbess in the left arm, pain in back that felt like a painful worm doing circles perpetually in the same spot) and then got it fixed by a chiropractor and prevented from reoccuring by a massage therapist. My problem was a dislocated rib that the drs didn't notice. No injuries caused this, they just pop out of place randomly sometimes. It was poking into the pectoral muscle in the front and misaligning the muscles in my back causing nerve issues. I highly suggest finding a good chiropractor if your heart tests are fine and any other immediate threats are ruled out.
Hope this helps some of you.

You have anxiety and panic attacks. I've had Panic Disorder for 7 years now. Those are ALL the signs of it. You need to ask your Dr about an anti-anxiety med. Also...acid reflux and Gerd go hand in hand with panic disorder. The adrenaline feeling you are having is just that. Your brain is generating too much adrenaline because it is what they call backfiring and telling your body there is something to dread or fear even though there is no real threat. Do you ever feel like.ice is running through y our veins? If so, that is adrenaline rushing through your veins. Even though it feels painful and scary, it is completely harmless. I can give you suggestions on coping skills that are out there if you would like. Some may work for you, some may not. It all depends on the person. Different things for different people.

I am 49 years old. I have multiple disabilities/illnesses. Fibromyalgia with IBS, PTSD,Battered Woman's Syndrome, carpel tunnel in both wrists and tendinitis in both shoulders. I also have seizures. A history of strokes as well. I went into er in April for a stroke, after many tests including a cath they said it was discovered these pains were associated with a heart condition called Cardiac Myopathy, or Cardiac Myocardial Bridge? Basic explanation was a vein normally staying on the outside of the heart gives me the chest pain when in stress as it falls into the heart? I'm not good on medical terms and my Fibromyalgia leaves my mind unclear. They put me on metropolol (blood thinner) to help eliviate the chest pain. It has helped somewhat but lastnight I ended up with the chest pains becoming unbearable to the point of breathing made me tear up. My entire left side went numb including face, neck, arm, shoulder, and left leg. The ER did an exray and blood work and 5 hours later sent me home with prescrips for heartburn relief. I was given Morphine for the pain during my testing and watching hours. It helped some but as stress increases the chest pain seems to always stay and get worse even when laying down or standing. Yes burping helps relieve the pain for a second or two. But I'm not convinced it is caused by indigestion. I believe indigestion comes more from eating spicy foods and junk and sometimes over eating. I hardly eat more than one meal and a snack a day sometimes not even that. I Hardly ever eat spicy foods and this has been going on for far too long .

Panic attacks are manageable usually with antidepressants such as paxil, zambien, or Amitryptaline. Also positive reinforecement done by yourself over time you will kick the panic attacks aside, no when one is beginning and be able to calm yourself momentarily. I used the Midwestern Anxiety program found online. Videos, cassettes, and a work book to help understand the triggers of a panic attack and how to avert your reaction from fear to calm. Try breathing in slow, out slow, and repeating this too shall pass. or I'm ok I am in control. over and over. Using the same positive reinforcement does help. I went many years having them, and have had many years without. It can happen! Best of luck.
