I was recently involved in an accident. I was riding a 4wheeler learning how to do a wheelie. When I lost control of the power and was thrown off the ATV landing on my ass with the atv landing on top of me. I landed directly on my ass. three days latter it is still very sore and swollen internally. could this be hemoridos? [/enc]
When people say they have hemorrhoids, it's a little bit like people who complain that they have "sinus." Everybody has sinuses, and everybody has hemorrhoids. The problem starts when the hemorrhoids swell, fall and possibly even protrude outside of the anus.
So, it is possible that your hemorrhoids (the blood vessels in your rectum) are swollen from the accident. However, it could also be possible that you have something more serious, like a broken pelvis.
You should probably get checked out by a doctor, and maybe even have some x-rays.
I don't know whether a one-time accident which causes swollen hemorrhoids can cause you to have a continuing chronic problem with your hemorrhoids, but I tend to doubt it. Generally, it is caused by genetics as well as poor diet, obesity, habitually lifting heavy objects, straining during bowel movements, working at a job on your feet all day, etc. On the other hand, childbirth can really exacerbate the problem, so I suppose it is possible that a one-time event can cause you to have ongoing hemorrhoid problems.
Again, I would really recommend getting checked out by a doctor or emergency room.
