Hi,

I am 24 years old. I and my husband planning for a baby. I am going to gym. When I join a gym I consulted to general medicin Doctor.
She said no problem. You can do gym first 3 months. Afterthat suggested exercise you can do. Before I had a irregural periods. But while I am going gym my periods come within 15 days. So I am afraid to go Gym. Please suggest me.. Shall I go Gym or not? Thanks in advance..

Regular exercise is good for almost everybody. It's up to you whether you choose walking, jogging, swimming, pilates, or anything else. While excessive exercise can bring many problems (which are not side effects of joining the gym as such, but side effects of exercising too much), I really don't think the gym is making you have periods every two weeks. Correlation does not equal causation. Don't be afraid to go to the gym, but ask your doctor about your periods and their impact on your fertility. Maybe ask for some hormone level tests to see what is up with your body?

Hi! I also believe that gym can only help you go easier trough pregnancy and childbirth. I would do as your doctor said, go to the gym first three moths and than do the exercises for pregnant women. Early menstrual periods are probably caused by imbalanced hormonal levels so you should talk to your gynecologist about it. Take care.

You're welcome! Yes, that's the smartest thing to do. I'd be glad if you would let me know what your gynecologist said. I'm your age and planing family with my fiancé too, so I'm looking for all kind of information, but you can never know enough :-) I hope that everything is going to be just fine.

If you asked me, from my personal experience, i stopped gymming when we want to have baby, stopped eating heaty food, dranked lots of soya...and during the first 3 months, it is not encouraged to do gymming in my country, after that you can do gym/yoga or swimming.. as long as u walk a lot and watch carefully ur diet, u should b in right weight...
