Hi all. I’m a bit overweight and I would really like to lose some of it. I’ve tried several methods (diet pills, workout, diet) but with no real success. Now, my aunt had some depression problems and so, her doc prescribed her luvox. What I’ve noticed is that in very short period of time she has lost several lbs!! So, I was wondering weather I could use that (or similar) med to lose some weight. What do you think about this???
Well, I would surely not recommend you use such meds for that purpose. Maybe that is one of the drugs’ effects (or even side effects) but only God knows what else it will do to you!! You should never play with such meds. Even patients with mental problems that have to use them must be careful while on them, especially regarding dosage. For example, I was on similar drug and gained some weight… I strongly believe there’s better way to lose weight, other than experimenting with such drugs. Take care.
Please dont use luvox for weight lose perposes.Iam on luvox for depression and it is a very strong drug .i was advised to take a half a tablet and continue increasing slowly until my adequate dose because your body needs to get used to it.If your are not depressed and havent been described it by your doctor i wouldnt take it.If you do you could be seriously harmed by it.Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain and this tablet puts what you need back in to your brain. If you dont have this imbalance and use luvox it could be harmful.
I hope this has helped nic

I have been on Luvox for about 15 years and recently my dose has been increased by double. I have put on 6 kilograms and still getting heavier. Any suggestions on what I can do? How to prevent further weight gain?
