i need to know if vitamins can cause a fishy smell, like flax oil,seed with omega 3
i do not believe so. however bacterial vaginosis is a vaginal infection that can cause a fishy odor along with a grayish discharge i believe. see your doctor.
You can have the fishy smell if you take any omega3 products anything to do with fish oil. this happened to me and I quit taking them..then the odor left. :-D
Experimentation leaves no doubt that the smell comes from fishy oil with omega 3. the smell develops in 4 hours on taking fish oil and goes away the next day if I stop taking it.
Yes, i too have the fishy smell. I don't have any other symptoms and i just started taking the pills. All the other sights say that the pills don't cause the smell, but there is no doubt that they do. I am very clean and never smell bad until i started taking those stinking pills.
i agree that the pills do cause odor, but someone that was never odor free would not notice. very few
women are odor free naturally. i am one of those that has no smell there at all until i take a variety of
supplements including omega 3. I don't know, but maybe it's not natural to be completely free of odor.

I think that what you're talking about is accurate--did you know that there's a genetic disorder where people actually have a fishy odor when they have fish? Considering the oils for omega 3 supplements are from fish often times, that's probably what caused issues in some of these cases. What do you think?
I just added flax oil into my diet & developed a very strong nasty vaginal odor that I do NOT normally have. I stopped the pills & it went away that day. Started them again & back it came right away....it undeniably cased that bad smell...:-(
I am male and have been experiencing the same issue. Within the last week i have started consuming substantial quantities of hemp seeds and hemp seed oil (both contain very high levels of omega 3 and 6), aswell as multivitamins. My penis has begun to smell fishy. i will try a few days off the products and see what happens and leave an update here.
Christer you are absolutely right. I too am a male that never has any smell however after using different types of Fish Oil I did get a fishy smell around the head of my penis. I am now trying a brand that has no fish smell or burps. Hopefully this will work. It's only been 2 days so I have to wait and see.
I noticed "that" smell too and when I ran out of my prenatal vitamins and switched name brands it completely went away. The doctor said it was probably bacteria vaginosis and prescribed me some medicine. I haven't used the medicine yet because the smell is gone and I didn't have any irregular discharge accompanied by the smell. The vitamins I was taking had the fish oil and now I'm taking one that doesn't. Smell gone... Thank God! Keeping the medicine on hand in case it was a fluke though. ha ha! Stinky vagina is no bueno.
Well I thought after experiencing a fishy smell for sometime With no discharge,itch or burning I would Google my query and how wonderful to find all this information.
I have been taking Fish Oil for 3 years and recently changed to Krill Oil ....when I remove my knickers at night up wafts "that smell"...after reading the enteries here I stopped taking the pills and Voila smell has gone....now that I know what it is I shall use a little baby oil around that area and wear a panty liner.
For those of you that are sexually active I would stop the pills for a more pleasant "encounter".
Also to the men good on you being fit enough to be able to sniff out the problem in the head of your penis. :)
Phew... I am relieved to read these posts. I am taking fish oil for the first time and the same thing is happening. This smell is very embarrassing if one happens to start a relationship at that time. No more fish oil for me.

I've been taking the fish oil pills for about three weeks now. I started smelling this horrible fishy smell from my va jay jay. It's very unpleasant yuk. I will be leaving those pills out of my daily vitamins from now on. Lol stinky va jay jay not koo
