Apparently Soma can be detected only with a GC/MS test, not a 12 or 14 panel UA. Until recently I didn't think it was possible to find them. A friend says she tested positive and IDK if it was a false positive or she actually took any.

Outpatient rehab center tested my urine. I had taken hydrocodone, oxycodone, and soma....tested positive for opiates and FALSE POSITIVE FOR MORPHINE. I HADNT TAKEN MORPHINE IN OVER 5 YEARS.

I don't know if anyone would agree to this but I've always thought it would fail for barbituates and opiates because it's a mixture between a muscle relaxer and pain pill.

Not only overdosing but car wrecks as well.

No you can't, unlike 99.9% of the people who post on these sites I'm actually licensed to answer you due to my degrees and fields I work in, anyway the FACT is soma is a muscle relaxant not a narcotic by definition due to chemical composition. Now this doesn't mean it can't be on a drug test, truth is aspirin can be on a drug test if the screening being done is looking for it, in other words if they are testing for soma then yes it will be on the test, but not as soma. What they look for is the metabolite that is left over if Yu will once the body digests, metabolizes, and excreted the drugs you have taken. This is a crude explanation but I hope it helps. Jt

I have taken Soma aka carisoprodol for probably 20 years. I have Multiple Sclerosis. It works, and I have never had withdrawal when I haven't needed to take it for up to 3 days. To take a drug off the market because 15-17% of people could develop a dependence or addiction is unfair to the 85% of us who don't. The same percentage of people become addicted to alcohol. Do we need to bring Prohibition back? I take Vicodan and Soma 3-4 times a day for pain and spasms as needed. No problems when I don't need it for days at a time. I should have to live in constant pain?

That's what I thought until yesterday when the Dr called me down about me having them in my system and him not prescribing them for me...I was in total shock and told him I got one from my mom.

This is the most ridiculous statement based on absolutely no statistics. It is a muscle relaxer and when used properly is effective. But, like any drug can be abused.

What statement is the ridiculous one?

No it will not show up as any of those three

I'm a recovering addict (Heroin) & I know way too well how addictive it is. I have had many times that I don't remember what happened for hours at a time bkz soma increases the high. It's definitely not to be used unless needed and for a short time under a doctor's care.

JT, I have been on large doses of soma for 5 years for a neck injury. I have a urine test coming up on 9/25/15 because my doctor got spooked about the medicine and changed me to something that doesn't work. He'll be using a soma specific test. I have been getting the soma someplace else. Do you know how long in advance before test I have to stop? Do you know if the amount taken is all excreated at the same time, for example 1 pill = 10 hours vs 3 pills = 30 hours?
