I have lupus disease and though I know how it would be complicated for me the possible pregnancy I still plan to get pregnant. And I’d like to know what I need to do before I get pregnant and am curious if you can recommend good lupus doctor in gynecological area?

Hi there? I was born 27 years ago and my mum had lupus and still has it of course but not me. I don’t have lupus. I actually had neonatal lupus that has disappeared after 5 months after I was born and it caused me hearth block which is a condition that occurs in half of newborns with neonatal lupus, but I was effectively treated by pacemaker. Anyway only 3% of newborns to mums with lupus might get neonatal lupus. And as for good lupus doctor in gyn area I can’t recommend you nobody special but I would advice that you go to a hospital that is specialized in caring such cases and you need to be under constant medical control by your doc or nurse. And of course you mast not get pregnant during your lupus flare but it’s probably something you already now. So keep in mind that you must stay in constant touch with your doc for the lupus flares may occur during the first six months of your pregnancy and during first three months after the delivery but usually these flares are mild and might be treated with corticosteroids.
