im soooo confused. i had sex with a guy about a week ago and started tanning a couple days ago. within the last couple days, i noticed my inner labia is swollen and so is my clitoris. its really red and irritated. and my labia, part of it is hard. i have a white discharge and it kinda smells weird. i normally discharge a lot between periods, but i dont know if i could either have something from this guy or if im sunburned. above the vaginal area is burned, so i could understand that. but i dont understand where the smell is coming from. im just super confused. whats wrong with me?!?!?!??
You could have burned yourself thru tanning, especially if you shave that area. The irritation accompanied by a white scented discharge could be yeast.
Have you any other symptoms, like burning when you pee. (from within) If you are red and irritated on the outside, the pee will burn when it hits the sore area.
If your discharge was yellow or green with a very foul odor, that could be a sign of an STD. I don't really like using over the counter medications but you could try some Monistat which you can find in the feminine hygiene aisle of your grocery store. Also, Vagisile helps, this is a tube of creme that you put on the outside of your vagina and helps to ease the irritation.
This is just one suggestion, but my first choice would be to see my doctor. I would say that you can't burn your inner labia, as this part is somewhat protected.

i did the exact same thing and i went tanning but noticed the irratation during sex so i wasn't sure which it was from. but since we have the same symptoms i defiantly think that you can sunburn your labia from tanning. i did!! and it hurrrrts!
I have been tanning for years and i do go commando. I have never burned my labia and i shave that too. I think you would have to lay spread eagle in the tanning bed. I don't know. I have several friends who tan all the time and have never heard of them burning themselves there.
Since this was one year ago, what did you find out? I'm dealing with the same issue
Nothing wrong with you, i think you might have BV which is normal, happens when you start having sex again after a while, or you change sex partners, easy fix see the doctor about it. Just a change in body chemistry down there.
