I have been diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 9 and after the initial frustration, i have been putting all the effort to be compliant with my treatments and diets. I have never had any major issue in terms of DKA or low blood sugar requiring hospitalization. However, I have grown up and am 19 today, a college student and I really hate it when I have to go out and have to with me all the ''equipment''. Sometimes I really feel like leaving all the equipment home. Any experiences? How do other manage this?

I don't think you really need to tote all the equipment with you, do you?  I am wondering if you are meaning to go out to eat with friends? If you can take your blood sugar right before you leave, you wouldn't need to take your glucometer with you or just take it in the car right before you enter the restaurant.  You can do your insulin too at that time if you know you will have an apetitizer available to you when you get there.  I hope this helps or gives you some ideas on how to manage your night out.
