My 13-month old has recently started getting cranky and clingy. He cries all the time, and has very loose and frankly smelly stools. Besides, he has started vomiting a lot too. After looking around on the web, I realized that these symptoms started when he got more interested in solids, and nursed less. The symptoms are consisted with what I read about celiac. Do you think this is what my son has? Could it be anything else?
Well done for realizing something might be wrong with your toddler, and not just thing that it is a new phase full of tantrums, as many parents do. What you describe sounds a lot like celiac, indeed! Of course there is no way I could diagnose your son over the internet, but the warning signs are there. I recommend asking your paediatrician for tests as soon as possible.
This is happening to my 16 month old daughter also. And has had the loose stool since Dec. and her food is still whole pieces when she poops. Today she started voimting and it is nothing but mucis just like her stool is. white and stringy and smelly. She has had 2 stool culters done and both came back fine. Her Dr. has ordered blood work done. But he did not know about the voimpting. we are really concerened about her now. She will not even eat ice chips and before she loved them. Any suggestions or articals I can reserch on what this might be.
