Chances of normal pregnancy after tubal ligation?

I know what you are feeling, I wory that the symptoms I feel are just my mind playing tricks on me since I sometimes wish I could have just one more now that I am older and can appriciate it more.

I am 36 and have not had a period since August (it's now November). I have three children youngest is 4.5 years. I had a tubal after she was bocalled took a home test and it was negative. I called my doctor and she ordered a blood test ~ checking for pregnancy, T4, T3 free, TSH, T4 free, and prolactinn level. I looked them up and it has to do with thyroid levels. I am going tomorrow. 

I too got my tubes done 20 yrs ago, met a man who didnt have any, same age as me, now he wants a baby so bad! but dont know if I can do at this stage in my life, I raised 4 kids all grown now with two grandchildren already! Lord give me patience!

I probably have the weirdest story on here. I am 49 yrs old, have been married for almost 15 yrs & been with my husband for almost 21yrs. We have 3 kids & 3 g-children (my 1st g-child was born when our youngest was in 1st grade). I was diagnosed with RA (rheumatoid arthritis) at 29, when my oldest child was 2, but it wasn't bad enough to treat at that time. I went on to have 2 more children at 35 & 38. Right after the last birth, the RA hit me like a Mack truck. RA is treated with biologics & typically, you need to be done with having kids. So, being 38, already having been blessed with 3 healthy children & needing to treat the RA & talking it over with my husband, Mom & Mother-in-law, I reluctantly agreed to a tubal. My OB/GYN knew I did NOT want to do this, so he just used a single U-shaped clamp (1 on each side) & I never gave it another thought, though I wasn't happy about the whole thing. Since then, I've had a bile duct transplant (due to the RA) in 2009 & several other surgeries, most related to RA. I just started my 5th biologic in 11 yrs. I have a lot of problems with this transplant, so nausea is a common occurrence. But, out of the blue, for the past couple weeks, my breasts were really sore. Couldn't even touch them. At first I thought breast cancer since I have it on both sides of the family, but then I was at a friends & got SO nauseated I was praying that I didn't hurl all over! On the way home, I actually had to pull over & throw up. The tonight, I mentioned I felt "bloated". Then everything that I had happen over the past couple weeks came back to me. I've missed a couple periods, but I chalked that up to starting menopause. I'm too old to have any more kids, plus I have a serious auto-immune disease & 3 g-kids. But our youngest is young enough that I remember all the symptoms of being pregnant. This issue is not another baby. I have a great marriage & great kids/g-kids, own our home & vehicles, but at my age the chances of developmental disabilities would be extremely high & I have RA/transplant that I would have to stop treatment of. Not to mention that ALL of my OB/GYNs that I trust have retired. I plan on taking a home pregnancy test in the next couple days (the last one was in Aug. standard prep for a new bio & it was neg, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that will be the case again). Has anyone else heard of or went through anything similar to this? It's the "curse" of one of my OB/GYNs: he said that if there's something weird or that nobody has ever heard of, it will happen to me....& that's how it's been ever since. I think I need to ask him to take the curse off-LOL!!

I really wish you ladies would check back in and tell us how it was/is going and what happened! I'm 39 with 4 kids, ages 20, 16 and 20 month old twins. My husband and I decided simultaneously to get a tubal when we found out we were having twins- but here I am, 20 months later and a week and a half late with every symptom of pregnancy that I get- peeing every 20 minutes, horrid gas, sore breasts, cravings, EXHAUSTED, and starving and nauseated at the same time.  I know I need to get a test right away, and that the risk of ectopic if pregnant is something like 70%, but I don't know what to say to my husband. We have had major life changes in the last two years that have made things financially difficult already, but terminating a viable pregnancy is not an option for me (For personal reasons, not political or religion based). I am really just scared. I read somewhere that tubals performed at birth during a c section are more likely to fail? Anyone else heard that?

 I am usually pretty regular periods lasting 2-3 days. Last month all I had was spotting maybe a days worth. This month the same thing.

I am dizzy, hungry, tired alot. My tubes were cut and carterized 21 years ago. Is there a possibility I may be pregnant? I'm 42 years old. Ugggh! 

I'M IN THE SAME BOAT IM GOING TO BE 42 IN APRIL I VE BEEN EATING ALOT IRREGULAR PERIOD BUT I HAD MY TUBES CUT AND BURNT 21 YEARS AGO I FEEL PREGNANT !! I WANT A CHILD AND IVE BEEN PRAYING FOR A BABY, I JUST MARRIED A WONDERFUL BUT MUCH YOUNGER GUY FROM OTHER COUNTRY I VISITED HIM FOR 30 DAYS I COME BACK TO THE U.S IVE BEEN EATING ALOT STOMACH HURTS HEADACHES BREAST HURT ,I DONT KNOW BUT I FEEL PREGNANT BEEN TRYING TO SAVE UP MONEY TO HAVE A REVERSAL BUT JUST COULD NEVER SAVE ENOUGH,WELL IM AFRAID TO TAKE THE TEST BECAUSE IF IT SHOWS NEGATIVE I'LL BE SO SAD WITH MY AGE NOT MANY CHANCES LEFT..is it possible ???

my sister this is my exact story same age everything !!! I wish I was pregnant married 21 years after I had tubuligation and me and my new husband want a child but couldn't save up enough money! so I hope i'am... it's a blessing from GOD IF I'AM IM SO AFRAID OF A ECTOPIC PREGNANCY.. and i'm afraid to take the test because it will just depress me if im not... not many chances or time to get pregnant at my age. so my sister keep me posted and let me know whether u pregnant or not gives me hope ..

Well ladies no such luck. Had my period for almost a week now( which is also weird, because my cycle is usually only 2-3 days). I went to doctor did pg test negative, had my hormones checked all normal, thyroid normal too... not sure what the hell is wrong with me at this point. I too want to do the reversal, but it's so expensive!:-|

I am in the same boat right now.  I am 46 and had a tubal a little over 19 1/2 years ago.  My AF was due Dec 14 and it is now Dec 30.  I never had pregnancy symptoms with my previous 2 pregnancies.  I have symptoms that AF will be here but it has lasted the complete month of Dec.  I have taken 3 HPT all neg.  I am not freaking out just wondering if it is pregnancy or the start on menopause.  I will take another HPT Jan 4, which will make me 3 weeks late.  I would like to know what happened with others that had this worry.

So I was not pregnant- I ended up being 16 days late, but now have started right on time (Giving me just the holidays off of AF, thank goodness for small favors!) I think I will always be a little paranoid about it- we really do not want any more- enough so that my hubby is going to get a vasectomy also!

omg! well, congrats! i have been tied since 2001, i am not necessarily "trying to get pregnant, but i also feel like if i do, then it will be because God knows his plan. i love babies, and would have never gotten fixed, but it takes it's toll on my body...i am a miserable prego!

Please update us, I had a tubal ligation June 1998 and my breasts are very sore, felt very fatigued for about 2 weeks now, feeling pregnancy symptoms. What ever happened with you?
