class action lawsuit against effexor (wyeth) because of HORR

I want to join the class action suit against Effexor  please contact me with information. My daughter went through hell coming off that poison! Being a single self employed mother I chose to care for my daughter . She needed 24/7 care and five nights a week we were in the ER for

It is easier to take action here in Australia as we don't have the requirements a lot of other countries have.

I will keep everyone posted about my search for a law firm. I would imagine if a firm is interested they would need to know there were sufficient people to take part in the action and the "allegations' are provable

I have been on Effexor 75mg for over 5 years.  I have tried numerous times to come off of the med.  I have tried to taper and cold turkey.  I have never been addicted to anything and this is scary and embarracing.  I have severe dizziness and those awful "brain shivers."  I am a nurse and my physician did not tell me of the problems associated with discontinuing this medication.  It has been six days now of cold turkey.  Instead of 100 brain shivers today, I am probably down to 40.  I guess that's an improvement.  I feel that there should be some sort of lawsuit against this pharmaceutical company.  No legal med should have these awful withdrawal symptoms. 

I started taking Effexor after my 1st horrible hot flash and stopped them immediately. (Not many people know this but it worked unbelieveably well). Then I realized after a week I had never taken an antidepressant that had literally NO side effects- it was AMAZING. Then, my OB Dr.  told me I should NEVER take that for hot flashes or ANYTHING for that  matter unless there was no other possibility..He scared me so bad because it was so positive MOSTLY ( I did have nightmares almost as if I were schizophrenic).  I tried to stop cold turkey (I was only at 75mg). I thought I was in about 6-10 alternate worldsand at some point thougt I wasn't coming back. This should be taken off the market and I wouldn't be surprised if it has caused, just hasn't been linked yet, to some deaths. If there is a lawsuit, I will be involved.

 

Hi my name is tammy and i was taking 300mg a day of effexor for three weeks. I slept the whole three weeks i was on the drug and when I stopped the drug i woke up in a violent rage that ended up costing me over 40 thousand dollars in damages and a weeks stay in a psychiatric hospital where i suffered through withdraws and the reality of what I had done. I am mad as hell that this drug remains on the market I could have really hurt myself or someone else.

Wish I could find a lawyer to sue for this drug.  I sit here with tears reading these stories,  I have been on this drug at 300mg for over 15 years (for panic attacks/anxiety not depression) and and been trying to wean off with my doc for 18 months.  Down to 200 mg and still suffer from withdrawal symptoms every day. Want to join in any suit out there

Nice to know I am not alone. Been on this Poisson called effexor for five years and found out the poison can raise bad cholesterol and cause high blood pressure and vision problems l have them all . So I decided to stop the drug wow W.T.F. MYlive has changed a lot the side effects are f****** horrible. I am also looking for some type of relief from this poison called effexor! my head is constantly swimming I feel like I have been drinking all night fell asleep woke up head spins. Can anybody help I have been trying now for 2 weeks to get my life back together but with no prevail please help anyone I think I'm going crazy and I blame this company and would like to hold them responsible for all the damage they have caused me and probably millions of others you're trying to get off of this c**p if there's a lawsuit out there count me n I'm unable to work at the present time due to the head stands the chronic crying the abrupt and outburst of anger please help anybody.

Effexor should be taken off the market. I have been affected and ruined for life.

Effexor is an invisible killer, not only does it harm the one who takes it, but also other people can be in danger. Especially if one drives while having withdrawal symptoms...Psychiatrists should take it and try it first.

Hi there, I would be very interested to know how your going with this and also would be more than willing to offer any help or information t I at may be of use. I was on effexor for a year or so 6-7 years ago and about 6 months in to my time on them I let my doc know of some concerns and side affects and his solution was to double my dose up to 450 mg. I had an absolutely awful time getting of them and there was many problems and side affects involved, but to this day I suffer from brain shocks quite severly and have dizziness and vertigo also. I have mostly gotten blank looks from doctors about my symptoms and the only literature I read about specific side affects like the brain shocks are on forums not official sites. And that is something I find interesting is that on the side affects list for efexor there is no mention of brain shovks yet they appear to be very common among those that take it especially during withdrawal which I had them constantly during thst period. I feel as though im stuck with them for life and apparently whst caudes them is not understood. Taking this stuff is like playing Russian roulette yet the doc flicked them at me like they were candy.

Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit for this drug? So many... SO MANY people are being ignored! I have been off of this drug for over 3 years and i am STILL having withdrawal side effects! Time to start banding together.... if we could just find a lawyer willing to take on BIG PHARM!

That is interesting and I though it was just me. I to was taking EFFEXOR and I am still have side effects withdrawal side effects as well. I have been looking for someone to take the case but no one will touch it. If you know of someone who are not afraid to take the case please let me know.
