something that works for me is this; i usually have sex at night time, if i know may be anal sex involved, i prepare myself as soon as i get up in the morning

drink alot of water

 

 instead of regular food i drink slim fast,ensure or any good shakes  with nutrients so i dont get hungry during the day.

 

 

use the bathroom around two hours before having anal sex,  then take a good shower  introducing my fingers in the rectum using just water to wash the inside NO soap or shampoo just clean water if i dont feel like using my fingers i do have a small anal douche ,i  fill it up with water, drain it and repeat the process until water coming out of my rectum is clear just to make sure all the water is out of me i  hop and squeeze my belly lil bit  under the belly bottom  with out exagerating  and hurting myself.   and that is it,  that works for me.

To answer your question, what works for us isn't what we started with. We tried enemas, the kind you buy at the drugstore. They work well but it takes a few rounds with them. Its tedious and even with doing it in the shower it wasn't entirely practical if you regularly have anal.
