Wow, was this ever a misinformed article. Instead of asserting what you even admit to be non-conclusive research as fact, why don't you read some real science about pot? the fact is, it has been demonstrated to actually physically DESTROY cancer cells. This stuff about it being 4 times as likely to cause lung cancer as cigarettes is plain and simply, pure nonsense. There has been not ONE single documented instance of lung cancer as a result of pot smoking. Why? because, as mentioned, it happens to have the property of destroying cancer. Look it up. Search Manuel Guzman with the words Cannabis and Cancer. Also look in to the study that was done in 1974 at the Virginia Medical College when this trait was first discovered, and ask yourself why your government, who funded the study, didn't let you know about it.

Please, try to get your details straight before sharing information with people. There has been a rigorous pursuit by many to prove that Cannabis is deleterious to one's physical health for an ongoing 75 years now and nothing has come up conclusive. No deaths. No cancer. No certain evidence of ANY negative side effects. It's not that hard to dig up evidence on the detriments of consuming Coca Cola, Alcohol, Candy Bars, and all the rest of the processed garbage that people these days seem to consider food. And yet, this plant, which there has been an ongoing attempt to contrive a negative image of for three quarters of a century, still can not be shown as a definite health detriment for ANY reason. Why? probably because they're barking up the wrong damn tree. Look it up. There are many documented instances of Cannabis' abilities to destroy cancer among many other profound medicinal powers which have actually been observed, unlike the phenomena you're describing. Reverse the follow:

"For whatever positive effects marijuana has on the chemotherapy patient, studies have shown that the negative effects are far more prevalent and damaging."

And the resolution of your misguided perception may begin. The reality is, you simply can't weigh inconclusive studies against observed FACT as if they are more truth bearing. To do so is asinine. It's ludicrous.

Cannabis is a potent medicine. That's verifiable, unlike claims of the contrary. Let's get this sorted out so we can start helping one another.

Also, you fail to mention there are other ways to use marijuana than smoking it - such as a vaporizer or some other non-smoke method. This is surely to minimize most of the ill effects you mention above.
