Hi, I found out that my ex girlfriend is HIV positive. I am still in shock and I’m very scared. We separated a long time ago, but I’m concerned anyway. What should I do?
Hi, sorry about your ex. HIV needs at least six months to be noticed in a blood test, so if you broke up with her more that six months ago, you can do the test. I know how stressful this waiting can be, I experienced it myself. Fortunately, my test was negative and since than I never had unprotected sex again. I am very careful now, because I couldn’t handle that much stress again. I hope your HIV test will be negative too. I know how much courage it takes to go there and give blood for HIV testing, but it’s better if you do it now and find out the truth on time. If you’re negative, you will stop worrying so much, and if you’re positive, you will have chance to start a treatment early.
a nice calming thing i found out, my doctor told me with hiv treatment the way it is today, you would be given a normal life expectancy if you were diagnosed, so its less worrying than it used to be, its been.. about 2 months since my episode of unprotected sex and worry, im not worried as much now as i know im not going to die in.. 5 years or w.e, but im still not sure, im worried about genital herpes now, i have very small spots on the underside of the head of my penis, not even 1mm, like little bumps, and what appears to be 2 like holes, one on either side, not holes, just really deep... like its been eroded on those sides somehow, im pretty worried about it, dunno if anybody knows anything about that.
woah woah woahhh,
it takes THREE months to show up.
get tested after that time.
don't worry. i think it is a little bit more difficult to get it from female to male due to her not puttng any fluids into you.
still no excuse to be slack on protection. there's nore than just HIV in the world.
don't panic, get tested, be safe. good luck

I am a 26 year old female an I recently (stupidly) had unprotected sex with a man who I also just found out right after I did that, that he has probably had sex or at least oral sex with a girl who I know has HIV. Isn't it harder for a man to get HIV from a woman? I am so very scared that I might have been exposed to it, what do you think my chances are? I am so scared of dying from AIDS especially being so young and having no health insurnace. Please someone help with my questions!!!!!! Scared & Praying ~ Nikki
