Confirmed pregnancy, then spotting. Stopped. 4 days later bleeding = Miscarriage?

I had a home pregnancy and blood test confirm my pregnancy 5 days ago (would be about 3-4 weeks from when I conceived). Night of confirmation I had a little brown/orange spotting. Stopped until 5 days later when I got what looks like a normal red period. No cramps yet, now been 24 hours. Can feel something, but nothing painful. My gyne said 5 days ago to wait another week, do a home pregnancy test, if positive see her the following week. Its a long wait! Can I do a blood test tomorrow and check my levels with previous test to see if they have dropped therefore indicating miscarriage? This is my second pregnancy. I have a healthy 2.5 year old boy. :
