My symptoms Almost identical to yours. Did you ever get a diagnosis or any relief?

Try homeopathic medicine... these things are also stress related and part of lifestyle changes..

I was also diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. The burning for me is following a UTI. There is no bacteria left, just a constant low burning.
I have been told that acidic foods activate it. So that means no coffee no vinegar and certainly no kombucha. Anyway I was told that the urinary tract gets irritated and stays that way until you get a break. I recommend drinking a glass of water with 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of baking soda and see if that takes the burning away for a while. If it does, eliminate acidic foods and drinks for a while and see if that takes care of it.

I have same symptoms and seeing a urologist and vulva specialist soon! I'm leaning towards IC or vulvadynia!

Hi there,
I got a UTI and felt like the UTI transferred from my uretra to my vulva and it's been 3 years since I have that burning sensation. I have been to different OBG doctors but nobody seems to know what I have. I have also taken a lot of diflucan for yeast infection and also inserted some bacterial suppositories and nothing will help. I did take several medicine for UTI. At this point I believe I'm helpless. Mine also feels like sometimes goes to my Anus. I slept with different people within short period of time and I believe that was the cause of my cystitis. Once I have been with One partner it the UTIs went away. Now it's just the burning on the vulva and lips.

Had this on and off my whole adult life. Used to get better during ovulation but now I'm heading to menopause there's no relief. Local creams just make it worse. Even cortisone creams and ointments made it worse. Vaseline is the only ointment that doesn't burn. No infections and all biopsies clear. Tried every pill and cream just in case prescribed by doctors and specialists. Sometimes there is no cure. Dr suggests trying hormone pills next as hormone cream makes it worse. After 40 odd years of this problem I'll give it a try but I doubt it will help. Saline solution rinses provided occasional relief but they stopped working recently (saline rinses used externally reduce both bacteria and thrush but you can't use it internally or you'll ruin the natural PH and cause BV). You'll need to buy saline that's 0.9 percent so it's not too strong on your skin). Seems incredible so many women can't get a medical answer to a similar problem. in my case it seems both hormone and skin allergy related but that's just the latest guess cause there are no other reasons found.

I had the same problem for years! I found a couple of remedies: baking soda water, Cystex, heated pad on lower back, please read explanation:

I suffered from age 16 to 29. Doctors put me on antibiotics and pushed cranberry juice, cran supplements. I stumbled upon a thread that had suggested drinking baking soda/sodium bicarbonate mixed with water, about 1/4 tsp to 8oz water ratio. This actually helped, but a year later I developed heart burn problems. I was finally recommend a urologist, who diagnosed me with cystitis, (which cranberry anything causes the bladder to flare up bad, invoking more vaginal burning) and pumped my poor bladder with sodium bicarbonate! (That's how they treat it.)

But here's my real relief....the urologist suggested I start an over the counter supplement called Cystex. I get it at Walmart or Walgreens or CVS. It's right next to the cranberry supplements. It works for me and it costs me $11 ! Here's the twist for me. Cystitis and IBS run hand in hand, and when I'm struggling with IBS the Cystex, though helps a bit, it's not 100%, I have to let my bowels run its stupid course and then all better.

Another think that helps me is actually laying on a heated pad on my lower back. Took me years to figure that out, but it helps way more that trying to numb the south parts alone.

My burning problem was a bladder allergy issue and an IBS issue. Only a urologist can diagnose these and most doctors didn't think or didn't know to suggest I find one.

After weeks of intense pain, visits to the dr, and sobbing I finally figured it out. It's called vulvodynia. I took one antihistamine tablet and within an hour my symptoms were 90% gone. Today is the second day and I'm almost completely clear.

Here is my story. I've been dealing with what feels like inflammation for 5 months. My vagina burns mostly in the evening. I've seen my gynecologist about 6 times with no relief. I've been prescribed every antibiotic known plus to douche with part betadine and part vinegar and water forr a week. My test results show "no infection". My ultrasound came back normal. My vagina even "looks" normal. This has disrupted my sex llife with my husband and I am stressed. I've gone to different pages on the Web to discover I'm not alone. I went to a dermatologist that treats "vulva pain" and I have found relief. I was prescribed Elavil to take at night. It's an antidepressant but helps with nerve pain. I was also prescribed a cream called Halog. The cream is expensive even with insurance but this combination improved my situation in under a week. I mostly take the Elavil and stopped the cream after a week since it can thin the skin. I'm 2 weeks in treatment and I feel so much better. I hope this helps someone.

Hi - I have had all the symptoms of cystitis. Painful urination, constantly needing the loo and burning. Also pain in my abdomen. Blood tests, urine and swab tests have come back negative for any infections. Also had an untrasound which also came back clear. So it could be IC?! Is there any cure? The pain is unbearable!

This worked for me for three months and then it came back. I went to a dermatologist who said that she does not think its vulvodynia and she thinks mi allergic to something. I see an allergist tomorrow, I have read about women being allergic to wheat, gold, mold and chemicals in our food that give us allergic symptoms in the vagina. My doctor said that allegic reactions can show up anywhere on the body. I think I may have gotten immune to zyrtec. My symptoms are swelling, itching and a little rawness and they started a year ago. I have to get to the bottom of it because I can not take it anymore.
