Hi - just wanted to say that I've had this left top-of-the-thigh tingling and numbness for 12 years now. And never had a cell phone in my pocket. So it's still a mystery to me. Something to do with nerve damage maybe??

A chiropractor has kept me walking without surgery for twenty years
My fiance has numbness on the top of his left thigh but can't get a good answer for it. I didn't think to take him to my chiropractor, thanks for the tip

I too have a numb spot on my leg. It never hurts and it actually benefits me sometimes because whenever i fall while skateboarding it acts as armor. I would like to know what it is though.

I have had nerve damage in the side of my left thigh since a car accident several years ago. At first, the sharp pains were barely tolerable, especially when playing sports. After speaking to my Dr, he said nerves take a long time to heal and that they may not heal at all. I eventually got used to it. It mainly hurts when I've been walking all day, but I pretty much ignore it now.
In the last few months, the front of my right thigh has started to do the same. I know it's nerve damage and what to expect, but was confused about the cause. After doing some research, I now believe it's caused from my cell phone in my pocket. I don't know if it's from radiation or just the constant pressure on the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, but there definitely seems to be a connection in this case. In any case, this nerve has been damaged and I'm not sure if there is any chance of healing. The best you may be able to do is figure out the cause and prevent further damage. Good Luck!

I know there's a lot of more serious or potentially more serious reasons, but thank you for your answer because I'm I'm definitely significantly overweight and more so this year than in the last several years. And I carry my weight in my stomach in my hips and the majority of it definitely is right above where my legs starts and sometimes my pants are tight because of this so I think that seems very logical. I'm going to focus on losing weight and exercising as opposed to getting lots of tests and paying lots of bills. Thank you!

I agree fully with that answer about the cell phone radiation up against your thigh allday cuz i noticed jus recently that i suffer now from numbness on the front of my thigh now!. And when i first noticed i immediately came to the conclusion that, that was what it was and came from!......i jus wish i would have had this info before i started puting my phone in my pocket everyday!.....and i am quite sure as hell i would not be walking around now days with a numb ass left thigh!..

I have also had numbness in my left thigh on and off for several years. It was steady for over a year. I saw a massage therapist who did "Bowen" therapy on me and it really helped. However, it does keep reoccurring. I am not overweight, do not wear tight clothing, do not stand excessively but am active. I have spoken to several medical doctors. 2 said "learn to live with it" (great....) and one said since I'm not obese it must be from too much muscle and I should stop weight training. (Not happening!). I really wish I could find an answer to what is actually causing it, so I can work on making it go away!

I agree. Never have pain, only numbness in the area where my left pocket is. Nowhere else on my body. I also used a Bluetooth device for years in my right ear and woke up one morning deaf in that ear???

Recently noticed a numb patch on my left thigh. On the front. Starts on the front of my hip bone and down to the top of my knee. Hand in pocket is directly over the area. I do keep my Samsung galaxy s7 in that pocket all day when I'm not using it. I'm 34, male. Recently had a vasectomy woth no issues. And I've been dealing with pack pain issues for a few months on and off. Sometime to the point that I can't stand or walk normal. Constant back pain in my lower back. Chiropractor visits seem to make it worse. But not the numbness is annoying. I have no pain or burning. Just numb feeling to the touch. Not sure what to do. I've tried moving my phone to my lower pocket. .. hoping to find answers.

I have that tingling/sometimes a flash of pain in my left thigh only; right where my cell phone in my front pocket sits for 3-5 hours a day. This tingling/pain is relatively new, say the last 4 to 6 months or so. Have kept my cell in that front pocket for years, although until 4 years ago, it was a small flip phone. Maybe the more powerful new I Phones emit more radiation/power and that's the cause of the tingling. Will report in the future if tingling goes away by NOT carrying a cell phone in any pockets.

Just had right shoulder surgery a week ago, 6/5/2019, and am experiencing numb patch on upper left thigh, top of thigh. Wonder if the nerve block used caused damage?

I just had a hip replacement about a week ago on my right side and that seems fine so far, but I'm having some numbness in my left thigh for last 3 days. What could that mean?
