Last week I had to go to the Emergency room, only to find out I had an infected gallbladder and gallstones blocking my bile ducts. I had surgery the next day to remove my gallbladder. Now my major problem is that I DO NOT have health insurance. Does anyone know an estimate of how much my surgery/hospital stay is going to cost? I've been looking everywhere for some sort of estimate on what type of bill to expect but I can't find much. I thought maybe there would be somewhere online that would list estimates of hospital and surgery costs by state. Can someone help me? :cry:

I had surgery on 5/16 and got my bill yesterday. It was for 11506.00. I was truly shocked. I went in at 3pm on Friday and was released at 12 noon the next day. So not even a full 24 hrs. I live in Va. Beach, Virginia. I don't know how much it is where you are, but thats what I was charged. I do have insurance, but they only cover eighty percent, so I expect to get a hefty bill.

In colorado it is about 8000.00 to 10000.00 depends on the surgeon.
