Find liquid iron and take it. Look in a natural health food kind of store
i think you also have endo, you wouldnt know for sure unless you had surgery which sucks but your symptoms sound quite similar to mine. i am both anemic and have endo. doctors suck, totally agreeable, its hard to find good ones who really care. my doctors havent said but i really think endo and anemia have a lot to do with one another.
Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores oh and pale mucous membranes in lower eyelid. I can relate to the feeling unrealiable, and it being noted as such...it took me a long to accept my health as being what it is, embrace it but dont take advantage of it...those who have their health do not understand how illness affects one's entire outlook and their self worth. Do what you can when you can, dont let someone else's lack of understanding/ignorance define you or devalue you. Hope you are feeling better soon and are able to gain some control of your health situation.
I was diagnosed with Severe Anemia May 2013 and my fingernails were quite brittle and breaking off at the quick (and painful). I did as my Doctor said and began taking Multi-Vitamin with Iron every day at meal (suppertime for me). Now 5 months later my nails are coming back normal and latest blood test reveals I am still anemic but not as bad as 5months ago. I also take VITAMIN C with my multi-vitaimn/Iron as Doctor said taking a Vitamin C along with iron will help it absorb better in your system. I also had DAILY HEADACHES that are beginning to go away. I also had sinus issues and bought a HoneyWell Warm Mist Humidifer I run at night in bedroom. All these combined seem to be helping me. I hope it helps someone else.
hi jv had anemia before am now being tested again but have bad head pain
I got anemia as a complication from taking hormones and bleeding excessively for a month straight. For three weeks in a row I experienced multi-day bone crushing headaches. Every step I took felt like a bowling ball was rolling around in my head! After landing in the hospital for lung clots (another lovely side effect from the hormones), I quit taking estrogen and at the same time starting taking iron supplements twice a day. I did not experience any headaches after that until just after i got my first period, then another headache but not as bad as before. As of yesterday my iron level has increased just slightly after 1.5 months. I'm going to switch to slo FE to see if I can improve my iron level faster, and I'm having a uterine ablation to help with the heavy flow that's perpetuating anemia. Also, i think I'll treat myself to a steak tonight!
