I've had the same thing as well and from what it sounds like it seems it is an ingrown hair. i had one when i went to my waxer and told her i was freaking out about it but she proved me wrong. she said she sees it from time to time in some of the girls she waxes who shave in between. don't keep hacking at it, it will reduce in time.

because they have a whie dot on top it may be molluscum. they are little bumps typically charachterized by a small white dot that comes out like a white head. they're transmitted by skin to skin contact but are as easy to get my sharing a towel. these you go to the clinic to get burned off. not painful at all. here's more on it

good luck!

Sounds like a boil/ingrown hair your right put the hot compress on it but stick a needle in the top where the white head appears and squeeze out all the puss, keep it clean it will go away. Sometimes it comes big or small I have had one the size of a egg once had to go twice to the clinic for them to cut it it was way to big for me to take care of. Good luck. Try waxing!

I'm only 15 years old, and I am in no way sexually active. However, I found a small lump on the lip of my vagina. I did not notice it until I felt it, it is very small and other than the fact it is a lump, it looks no different to the rest of my vagina. It does not hurt at all, but I am very concerned it will become something serious if I don't get it treated? If I'm honest, I am too embarrassed to speak to a parent or a doctor. But am also too paranoid to just pretend it's not there.

I was reading up and it seems most likely to either be ingrown hair (as I shave, and had shaved the night before, I only noticed the lump when in the bath the next day) or Bartholin's gland cyst.
On the website about Bartholin's, it reads:

'Sometimes they aren’t painful at all and you just wake up one morning with a swelling on one side of your vagina, don't panic, there is help.'
Which is exactly what happened to me :/

Help please.

If it helps anything, I had a similar experience.

I had been seeing a new guy, and I flew across the country to visit him. My last sexual encounter was in early December (and the condom did break, but I don't think he had anything).

Anyway, after shaving way too much, and having sex way too much (this was about two weeks ago), it's all very angry down there. I had several ingrown hairs at once (shaved every day for 10 days) and a bad yeast infection (smelled like fish!). BUT! I went to a doctor. When I told her of my concerns of it being herpes, she looked at me like I was insane and asked me, "Haven't you ever seen an ingrown hair before??" She explained that if I had herpes 1) the outbreak would have happened probably around New Years, that if I was having an outbreak it would look and feel similar to having a cold sore on my crotch (the sudden itching like death and burning), and that herpes would appear to be a concave blister, not a mound of pus. I got the drugs for my yeast infection/BV and got that cleared up...and I'm still having some issues with cyst-like ingrown hairs...but I've not been very good at keeping things dry down there one one popped up after wearing tight pants over nylons (capris - didn't want to shave my shins) so that's my own fault.

I still worry, mind you. But the DR's reassurance made me feel better, if a bit stupid. I think when it comes to things like this we all want immediate relief. I know I'm not going to get any: I did a number on myself. Just don't freak yourself out. And keep your hands off. And keep things reasonably dry!

hey

i read your passage and i know this can be so mind consuming that you just obsess to the point where u take a little problem and turn it into a biggggg problem and before you know it you have every possible disease you can imagine that causes bumps in "that" area. i honestly wouldnt freak yourself out because that just going to make you nuts! the problem with the human body is that theres always something going on and im also one of those people i can take a simple flu like symptom and turn it into me having hiv or that im dieing from H1N1. the whole thing about genital herpes is that its "in your genitals". us girls have a tendency to want to be hair free so were always shaving plucking waxing and tweezing cuz we hate hair and because we do stuff like that to our most sensitive of parts its asking for trouble. i myself have very sensitive skin and wheneevr i shave i get very irriated and red and bumpy all over the place and when i used to wax or pluck i would sometimes get an ingrown hair. ive never had any problem in the labia or anywhere like that but ive gotten a pimple or ingrown hair closer to my stomach area. its nothing, and no reason to freak out. if youre truly concerned, RELAX, go to your doctor and have them do a blood test. thats the only sure fire way to find out. from what ive been told from the people i know through the grapevine that have been exposed to hsv2 its extremely painful and uncomfortable and you know somethings not right. its usually not a little tiny bump and it presents itself on urself in a form of urgency as if you know somethings not right down there especially if its ur first outbreak. some people do get it more seriously than others it just depends on how uir body reacts to the virus. if you do have herpes, it is manageable and it doesnt mean your life is over. people are just very close minded to the virus because of the way society has presented it. so if the results do come back positive you are not a w**** or a monster and you didnt do anything wrong, so breathe. i highly doubt one little red bump is genital herpes and i know coming onto websites it helps to talk and get opinions because it gets you through it but a lot of people on here are just like you and me, "theyre not doctors" and theyre just talking liek theyre experts on diseases. if you have an irritation on your genitals or anywhere else for that matter that is truly bothering you and is painful and causes issues for you, go to your doctor and have them put your mind at ease. wondering, is worse than anything. hope this helps

Sounds like it might be either an ingrown hair or a sebaceous cyst. Neither one is anything to worry about but it is better to go to a doctor than to hack away at your skin. You can make the situation worse by doing that. Try taking a hot bath, soak for a while and then when you get out try to squeeze the area to make it pop. Or you can sterilize the head of a pin and insert it into the center (gently) and then squeeze to get the stuff out. Keep the area clean and dry. And to prevent either from growing, particularly the cyst, you can wash your vaginal area with Hibicleans (buy it at pharmacy, it is on the shelves in a mint green bottle, pharmacist will show you where it is) to prevent bacteria from growing and thus causing either problem. Good luck!

Had the same thing a long time ago and was too embarrased to ask for help with it. It would get mad once or twice a year and blow up like a pimple but never could get it to go away. Years later I finally got my husband to look at it and he sliced it open with a scalpel (yes after disinfecting everything!) and found a nasty hair cluster going on in there. Do not wait til it gets to this point, it sucks! Go in and have the doctor lance the area and pull the hair out, or if you're brave do it yourself. Just make sure you steralize everything. The longer you wait the worse it gets. Definitly not herpes, you'd know! Those are some nasty little blistery things that do not go away on their own and burn like fire when you pee! Good luck y'all

I also get these types of bumps from time to time, which is why I was researching this online. They are most likely a sebaceous cyst on the labia. It is usually filled with white type material or an oily substance. Don't panic until, but do get an STD test to check. I have had std testing, and didn't have anything which is why I think this is most likely a cyst! Hope this helps.

I'm 15 and I shave downstairs and ever since I've been getting the same thing. I'm a virgin so I can't automatically assume that it is herpes. I think it's safe to say with all of the side effects you've mentioned and myself along with many others having the exact same problem as virgins, you have nothing to worry about. This kind of thing happens a lot especially if you shave or wax your hair.
