I would like to know more about sex in pregnancy. Is it harmful like some women are saying? I am 6 months pregnant and would like someone to tell me more about it. Recently I had sex with my husband and after that I felt slight cramping. Is it possible that sex was cause of this?

If you experience another cramping after intercourse, I advise you to go to your doctor. Many women think that sex during pregnancy can harm the baby. But what many of us don’t know is that women are sometimes using this as an excuse because their sexual desire is very low during pregnancy. However, this is not the case with every woman. In a normal pregnancy without complications, sexual intercourse is safe. It will not harm you or the baby. It is very rare for intercourse to cause a miscarriage but when you reach your ninth month, ask your doctor if you and your partner may continue to have sexual relations before the birth of the baby. During the first trimester many women notice a decreased sexual desire. In the second trimester, many women have an increased interest in sex and during the third trimester, either partner may feel awkward about the woman's enlarged abdomen. It is not unusual for some women to feel unattractive because of the physical changes of late pregnancy. Remember, if you experience cramping again, go to your doctor.
