Hi I accidently nipped myself while shaving my crotch area using an electric hairdressers shaver, the cut was bad enough to cause bleeding, ever since that incident I feel soreness, weakness and pain in that area which is my right pubis, it has been 8 months since the injury and I have not felt much of an improvement, I am wondering if this will heal or I have a permanent injury.

Persistent pain and soreness for such an extended period after a superficial injury like a shaving nick is unusual. There are a few possibilities to consider:

  1. Infection: Even a small cut can introduce bacteria and potentially cause an infection. If the area is red, swollen, warm to touch, or has any discharge, these could be signs of an infection.

  2. Scarring: If the nick was deep enough, it might have caused a small scar that could be causing discomfort. Scar tissue can sometimes feel itchy, tight, or sensitive.

  3. Neuroma or nerve injury: It's theoretically possible, though rare, that a shaving injury could have affected superficial nerves in the area, leading to persistent discomfort or altered sensation.

  4. Referred pain: Sometimes, pain in one area of the body can be referred from another location. It's possible that the discomfort you feel isn't directly related to the shaving injury but coincidentally started around the same time.

  5. Psychosomatic symptoms: Sometimes, a traumatic or distressing incident can cause physical symptoms that persist longer than expected. This doesn't mean the pain is "all in your head"; psychosomatic pain is real, but its origins are more complex.

It would be a good idea to go to the dermatologist to get it checked.
