I have tried massaging it with my own weight but it's not helping so the only fix will be going under the knive

After reading all of these replies, I had no idea other people were walking around with a “dent.” I fell down slippery steps with my hands full, and landed on my right butt cheek. For at least 2 months, it was as big as 1/2 a baseball. It started “deflating” (lol) over time, but 8 months later, there’s still a dent and smaller lump. It’s noticeable to me when I wear dresses or dressy pants. I’m very thankful it doesn’t hurt and it’s not as bad as it was last year. I have a feeling it’s permanent, though.

I have a huge hematoma on my buttock from an ATV accident 2 months ago. After tons of research, and finding a sports injury Dr, i was diagnosed with a Morel Lavallée lesion. I was referred to the plastic surgery unit at Harborview in Seattle. The surgeon has recommended a drain before we try surgery. I get the drain tomorrow. Ill let you all know how it goes.

hi guys, so i had a fall in february 2013, i was walking down the steps (hands full) slipped and landed on my right butt cheek. i went to docs she said it th bump (which was spread across my whole cheek from side to side would subside. well the bruising went away but the bump was pretty hard and very visible in clothes and i felt unbalanced caused by the injury which made my hip drop. doc called it a deformity so it wouldn't be covered by ohip. the muscle damage that was caused was annoying cause when i would exercise my glute to regain strength it would harden and cause the bump to look even bigger and became harder. In 2015 i had a rhinoplasty done so decided to get some lipo on it and my surgeon said he would attempt to remove some of the fat and even it out with the other glute so it wouldn't pop out as much. (appearance was better but its still there and i still cringe if a guy moves his hand down to grab that part of my butt, it feels to me like i have two butts !)

fast forward, three weeks ago i sustained a similar injury again, not as bad but pretty bad, after a day i started to see the bulge forming with the bruise and could feel it and i immediately began freaking out. this time the other cheek. so i right away started icing for two-3 days, then started with the heat and gently foam roiling on it. half of the dent subsided, and now I'm left with a lacrosse ball sized lump which I have been continuously heating, dr ho'ing, massaging, stretching, exercising, icing sometimes after deep tissue massaging with the lacrosse ball. those are the things i have been doing, and i am going to my physic guys who release all the other areas around the injury that have drastically tightened up. i also have severe arthritis in my neck and that started flaring up from this injury.

been looking into brazilian butt lifts today, cause i would like to have an attractive bum back. some of you ladies spoke the honest truth though. a guy that loves you is going to love you no matter what dimpled bum or not. i know my ex still loves me, he even massaged it for me many times lol.....

i have been emotionally effected, as blunt trauma can do that, and i have been doing yoga and deep belly breathing to deal with this healing process....

take a deep breath and tell yourself "i am beautiful, my body is healing and i am doing all the right things to gently guide my body through this process, i love my body and my body loves me."

hope this helps someone, I CANT BELIEVE I FINALLY CAME ACROSS A FORUM WITH SO MANY WOMEN TO RELATE TO (IM 32 BY THE WAY IF ANYONES WONDERING)...when i first got hurt i had no support and was so embarrassed. this was very comforting. thank you

I have a similar condition. I had two different diagnosis. Scar tissue, and fatty tumor. My right buttock. I never hurt it . The area gradually grew over the years. The last two years it grew rapidly. It's so large now I'm afraid it's going to take over my whole but. Doctors tell me they don't do anything about it. Can anyone help me?

Hello everyone!

I am amongst the rest of you, who has also sustained an injury to my (left) buttocks due to a fall.

... It happened last August (of 2017), when I happened to be wearing a nice new pair of sandals made of plastic-like material that had yet to be broken in; also, I was on face-time when I proceeded to head to the stairs to make my way down. I took only 3 steps before I knew that the stairs were going to take me for a ride that day. I then, proceeded to fall down a narrow stair case of a flight of 16 hard, low carpeted stairs. Once at the foot of the stairs, I manage to stand up while crying uncontrollably due to the fact that I have NEVER fallen like this in my life. Almost immediately, I noticed that besides a few scrapes and carpet burns on my arm and hand, my left buttock broke my ENTIRE fall. I became so afraid of what this meant for me in the near future... "Will I ever fully heal/recover from this?", "Will my left side of my buttock take on a new shape or form and look different for the rest of my life?", "Maybe the bruising, swelling, pain, and tenderness will just go away and I'll just forget about this whole ordeal"... but that was not the case.

It was a few weeks before I noticed the bruising and swelling started to go away. Due to the nature of my injury, I made sure to take OTC (Over-the-counter) pain medications, did icing, massaging, and occasional heating pads in hopes of a speedy recovery. BUT... I still to this day in April of 2018 have a crescent shaped indentation and lump on top on the indent from the day of my fall.

I have made an Appointment to be seen for an US (Ultrasound) this Wednesday in the hopes of finding a solution for my "lumped buttock." I'm hoping my Doctor will find some sort of "fluid," or "bad blood," that he can drain; however, I was told by one other Doctor that this could possibly be a "permanent defect." I couldn't believe, and did NOT want to believe that that could be true. She mentioned that for aesthetic reasons an option for me could be PLASTIC SURGERY. A "Fat Transfer" may be my only option to get my left buttock looking completely normal, or as close as I can get it to the point of before my injury. I will be sure to keep anyone who is interested up-to-date with my progress. Until then...

Wish me luck, and I wish all of you the best of luck.

This sounds ever so similar to my story from 2014. I did have lipo to reduce the size of the lump above the crescent shaped indent. It’s still there though. And I definitely notice it if others may not unless they look carefully and I’m wearing something tight. a fat transfer was suggested ( I would probabaly get a full brazlian by lift in that case ). But I was told the fat may not hold there perfectly and if I lose weight it could show a slight distortion there. Man. Asides from that I will suggest strengthening and stretching hip muscles and making sure you are not compensating which will cause pain down the road. Stay fit keep Moving. Moving is the key to life. Also try dry brushing. gets the lymph system moving and is great for Blood circulation.

Thank you for your reply and advice! I’ll definitely be trying dry brushing I’m willing to try anything that may help. And yes, with added research I’ve been looking at BBL’s instead of a Fat Transfer. I’ve never thought about needing to strengthen my hip muscles.. now that I think about it.. from time to time I feel a sharp shooting pain in my left hip (side of injured buttock!) Thanks again for the insightful advice.

Like many of you, I fell going down the stairs a couple weeks ago and have a large indent on my left butt cheek. I didnt go to my dr because I figured there wasn’t much to be done. I’ll have a physical exam in the fall and can mention it then. It doesn’t feel like fluid to me but rather my fat cells got rearranged. It’s ugly and I used to have a cute bottom. I’m married to a supportive man who isn’t bothered by it but I don’t want it forever! I’m 34. My mom had a similar fall when she was about 35 but on her thigh and she has a indent there to this day.

I’ll try dry brushing and massage. But I’m glad to see all these comments on this post. Makes me feel less alone!

Hi! I had a fall in December and having this issue now. Where I have a dent and lump after a hematoma. My doctor has no idea what to do. And they're having a hard time referring me to a plastic surgeon. Would you mind emailing me? Any information would be great.
