My 87 year old mother also had a stroke two months ago and also complains of dizziness and double vision, my biggest concern for her right now is she eats very little. The meds she is on curbs her appetite and she is afraid of choking, I see her getting frailer and weight dropping off of her, she also is depressed. I just don't know what I can do to help her.

so whatever happened to her now that it's a year later, did she recover?

I had a stroke and had vertigo for some time after. Then I had a PFO closure and that helped the vertigo. See a cardiologist and ask if he has a hole in his heart

I had a brain stem stroke Nov 24,2017. I could not eat by mouth for 6 weeks and was in ccu for 1 week and 2 weeks in a rehab hospital. I take norastatin,lispirnol,aspirin325mg,gabapentin,B-12 pills and panta prozole The docs said mine was cause by blood pressure and blockage in brain stem blood supply I received outpatient physical therapy and occupational therapy for approximately 30 weeks and improved a lot with it .They also would not not give me TPA as they said my stroke was a wakeup stroke and it might kill me . I wonder if my quality of life would be better if they had.I did not smoke or drink and exercised regulary. My caregiver recently left because of my inability to live a somewhat normal life so now its just me and my 3 small dogs.God has kept me alive for some reason. I hope he will let me walk again someday

I am a 57 year old female who had a stroke during a preventive medical procedure. I have had physical therapy on my right side, am slowly getting better. The left side of my brain was affected. My left eye was almost closed, was seeing double and couldn’t remember things very well. I am getting better (8/19) and the double vision has gone away but am still very dizzy. I have had my eyes checked (twice) because I did not believe the first doctor. Will the dizziness ever go away?

Hi, I had an embolic stroke three years ago and my dizziness is awful.

I do find yoga, meditation, purely a plant based diet helps.

I take 10 to 30 grams of vitamin c a day, magnesium l-threonate, magnesium, Alpha Lipoic Acid, vitamin a, e, k, D3, and I'm no further forward.

I drink water, dandelion coffee, water and small.amounts of coffee.

I practice self hypnosis, nlp, and study as much as I can as I lost my memory or rather a lot of memory.

The best that I get is by fruit smoothies with protein powder, mct oil, seeds, walnuts, blended in water, with L-lysine, 10 grams, BCAA, and that is my one nutrient dense meal. I often include lots of green veg and I am getting better from the inside out you day at a time.

Drastic changes.

My stroke was caused by a cortisol injection in my neck by a Dr Malek in Brentwood.

I had a stroke 2 years ago. I often have vertigo and sometimes confusion. I developed seizures, Doctors and Nurses all said that strokes and seizures go hand in hand. This isn’t true for everyone. Seizures can be hard to detect when they aren’t tonic clonic or severe.
No one remembers or is aware that they had a seizure. If your loved one seems more confused than normal or has a blank stare where they aren’t responsive You might want to mention this to your Doctor. My seizures are followed by extreme dizziness and migraines. Medicine helps to have fewer seizures and symptoms. This however is just a suggestion as I am not a professional Doctor.

Apple seeds, chewed and swallowed, break down into cyanide. ~200 seeds can kill a 155lb man, while smaller amounts may lead to permanent neurological damage.

Unless you are trying to kill yourself, DO NOT eat apple seeds. There is no quantity or strain that is safe to consume.

I am a stroke survivor I had 4 in one day 2 yrs ago. I am fairly well all considering but I also have dizziness and at times it's severe. I had vertigo 12 yrs ago and it was 5 months of therapy. Have to retrain the brain to be able to compensate...learned it well. I notice much worse with barometric pressure changes. I can notice a difference in 1-2 weeks before we see the changes here where I live. I figured it out with vertigo and has remained after strokes. Research salt it can make dizziness worse. I'm still trying to figure it out. Just my expierences

I have an overactive thyroid. My count has now gone up to 7.2, it was 6.8 6 weeks ago. I have been on propylthiouracil for 6 months. When it was first found after a stroke, what should my count be? I am 59 years old.
