I had bad fall last week and since then I had a big hematoma on my left thigh. It’s huge, about 10 cm. But also it’s very painful. I feel constant pain. I don’t know is this usual for hematoma? Do hematomas hurt? I do feel pain! Tell me your experience.
Yes, of course, it can hurt very badly. Recently I also had a big hematoma and I didn’t sleep because of that pain. I was taking painkillers. So, I can really understand you and I feel sorry for you. But it will pass and you will forget it soon. Good luck!
Hello there miltie876,
Hematomas can really be very painful especially if they are big. Last winter I had fall really bad and I had hematoma on my right arm and it looked really bad and it had hurt like hell!
One of my friends recommended me Arnica cream which is great for various different things. I was thrilled because it has relived the pain which I was feeling and it helped for the hematoma to pass a little bit quicker. I was very grateful for this information and now I am sharing it with you. You can buy this cream in almost every pharmacy and I think that its price is around 7$. I hope this was helpful and good luck.
Iv got hematoma in leg .. an recently had hip replacement .. 2 half weeks in saw physio for exercises she made me walk without sticks .. few days later felt muscle pull an ping .. right across scar . Got lump .. rubbing it with cream trying to disperse it bloody painful .
I collided legs with someone playing soccer in march, and ended up with a haematoma on the inside of my shin/calf. It took 1 and a half hours for me to realise that the bruising feeling I had felt had become a massive bulge on my leg that restricted my ability to walk, and caused huge pain. Now I'm what, 4 months past that? My leg is currently aching, and I remember being told I should go back to the doctor if I feel aching, but I'm well past recovery? Please let me know if you experienced the aching after your recovery as I'm a bit worried. Cheers!
I Took A Very Bad Fall Outside My House And I Got A Hematoma On The Outside Of My Right Leg And Sometimes It Hurts To Walk On That Leg Cause Of The Hematoma.
I had a brain hematoma, which caused a coma
I fell on my hip and finally my hematoma healed with ice packs. Very helpful. After weeks of no pain and no lump, the pain has returned. Feels like the muscle has scar tissue and it’s stretching…. Anyone else?

Hi, guest.
I had the similar experience.
After an injury like a fall, it's possible for the affected area to develop scar tissue as part of the healing process. Scar tissue forms as the body repairs damaged tissue, and it can result in changes in the texture, flexibility, and function of the affected area. Scar tissue is typically less flexible and more prone to irritation and discomfort compared to the original tissue.
If you're experiencing pain and a sensation of stretching in the area where you had a hematoma, it's possible that the scar tissue is being stressed or stretched due to movement or activity. Scar tissue can have different properties than the surrounding healthy tissue, which can lead to sensations of discomfort or tightness.
You can try managing your symptoms with self-care measures such as applying ice packs or heat packs (whichever feels more soothing to you), gentle stretching exercises (if approved by your healthcare provider), over-the-counter pain medications (following the recommended dosage), and avoiding activities that exacerbate your symptoms.
I also used shower massages to ease the pain and it got resolved in a few weeks. I think you will be ok in no time.
