I am 14 and I have thought about getting circumcised, but am now thinking against this, do you think that is the right idea? Also I have been able to retract my foreskin for a good three years by now but I've noticed when I pull back my foreskin the back of the head of my penis has a thin thing of skin attached to the foreskin what is this, it goes from the tip down the back? It looks kind of like the part of the skin underneath your tounge I have no idea what it is please help.
Hi mega the piece of skin is called a frenulum and it totally normal. It's job is to keep your foreskin covering you glans (head) of your penis. When you get an erection does your foreskin automatically retract or do you have to pul your skin back? As for circumcision that is a personal choice however at your age. If everything works and you can easily pull back your foreskin with and without an erection and there is no pain with masturbation or getting an erection I don't see much of a reason to get circumcised. There is a risk of infection and healing takes longer as your penis is bigger than when you were an infant. Plus most people who get circumcised as older kids and adults claim their glans is very sensitive for a while until it is use to constantly being exposed and rubbing on your underwear and stuff.
