Hi,

I’m thinking about buying home LED light therapy lamp because the treatments I got at my chiropractor really did help a lot with my chronic back pain, so it seems like it would be a lot more cost effective for me if I didn’t have to pay additionally for light treatments every time.

What I’m not sure about though is, even if I follow all the instructions, it’s one thing when you have the therapy done by person who has experience and education and completely different when you do it on your own, so is it possible for light therapy to have any side effects?

Hello,

as long as you buy the right LED lamp (for chronic pain, the recommended light frequency is 830nm which we see as the red light) and, of course, use it according to guidelines that must come with the product.

You can also get LED light therapy lamp that's designed specifically for treating back pain - you wear it around the painful area. The only possible risk would be if you exposed your body to the LED light for too long, since some of these lamps emit some light in infrared range, but you'd have to be exposed to the light for hours on end.
