I was 16 wen I started smoking cannibas and weighed 11 stone (70kg)iv been smoking now for 8 years and currently weigh 8 stone and dropping i eat the biggest pile of sh*t goin and cant seem to put weight on I exercise as regular as possible (3 times a week) so I feel like I can tell u people that thinks it makes u fat cause u eat alot(munchies) that ur talking sh*t, people who smoke it shud know no better than u guys jus goin on speculation of wat u hear about

Yes. It actually does make u lose weight. I started smoking weed an year ago. At that time, i weighed 89kgs. After roughly five months (being able to control my munchies) i had lost 15kgs. As of now, ive maintained my weight at 65kgs. It all depends wth ur eating habits and exercising also is key. Eat healthy mostly lots of fresh fruits and veges and drink lots of water. Stay away from carbs and fatty foods even though i know the munchies can be crazy. Now off to my stoners club....:)..:)

Just to add my two cents, even though this is an extremely old post I would say yes in my opinion smoking weed can make you loose weight. I am and have been a regular marijuana smoker for over 4 years and I've noticed that my weight has changed drastically. It isn't that I'm sick or anything, I'm actually pretty healthy and am happy with the weight loss. When high, I tend not to think about food in comparison to other things like how to save the world, whats the tread count of the couch in front of me or why some guys just don't wear bras too..

My appetite is not the same, actually sometimes I have to remind myself to eat regularly, unless I have the munchies after I've smoked.

I can't go as far as saying yes, smoking weed raises your metabolism, but I can't say it doesn't either I'm really not sure. But what I am positive about is, the only thing I've done as a lifestyle change is smoke marijuana and in tern I have lost weight. It may not be the marijuana making you drop weight itself, but smoking definitely has something to do with it along with the eating habits you'll maintain.

Alright I have no scientific proof But just personal experience... I have been smoking weed for over a year now and I completely lost all my appetite. I find myself starving myself because I don't get hungry and when I try to eat I can't I have to actually force the food down my throat (not literally). And it messes with your eating habits . I smoke about 7 grams on a good week and 6 on a bad week. Yes you get the munchies when your high I have eating bowl after bowl after bowl after bowl after bowl of cereal (no joke) to the point where I can't do sh*t but sit down. This is usually where people go to sleep after they consume a large quantity of food. This is where getting fat comes in, if you do this (eat than sleep) your body stores those extra facts since your digestive system doesnt work the same it does sitting down, laying down effects this also. But I have learned to not do that and I don't know how high my metabolism is But I can eat good amounts of food without gaining weight, so I believe it's relatively high. But since I find myself starving myself (not because I think I'm fat) I lose weight easy even though I eat a lot of food. You only get serious munchies when you smoke A LOT and get really high. If you smoke a couple bowls not really. But I think this could be a theory because I know people that have the same events happened to them (best friends) . I came to this thread because I am curious. I have noticed I began to start gagging alot out of thin air. It happens around 24 times per day and I can't stop it. I was wondering if this is caused due to my eating less and starving myself. I really am curious and this is a serious question

Also like the other person said you don't really think about food when your high but sometimes if you smoke a LARGE amount and get very high (you know the point) you eat slot and sometimes (not always) sleep

Ik I'm like a yr late! But honestly..the munchies have nothing to do with it! Some of the smallest people in the world eat a lot..doesn't mean that they smoke weed..it means something breakin down their food fast! So it's possible ...when you drunk your hungry too! Do you get fat?!

i have lost 75 pounds over a one year period. since i started smoking weed on occaison. I have to go through drug rehab for weed due to some outsiders. the real issue is I felt i lost the weight while smoking. i had more control over my food intake felt more active and plus it helped wiht my anxiety and ptsd. i didn't do it every day though. it was a friday and saturday and monday thing. I have no control when it comes to certain foods. i hate being around food. How do I tell my drug counsler that i am not addicted to weed but to the weight loss i had from it and rather enjoy my new 155 versus 230. I don't want to gain the weight back. I don't know what to do.

I've lost 15 kg in a week. . . I barely ate anything and I maintained my life going, I was hanging out with my friends, going to collegue, everything normal, in fact I had more time because I was doing stuff during lunch time, all I did was eat a bowl of cereal in the morning , sometimes not even that, grab a sandwich sometimes at school and eat dinner when I get home around 8pm, I was sleeping 4 or 5 hours per night, what got me through the hunger was weed, I didn't even want to eat if people put food in front of me, I really wasn't hungry when I was high, I still don't get hungry when I am high, it's just different feelings people get, weed enhances feelings, so if you don't give a f**k, you'll give less f**ks if you are a little hungry then you'll become super hungry, if you are super tchill you'll become a f*****g rock, and rocks don't eat

Marijuana alters appeptite. In most cases you are only hungry after you get high. It makes you lose weight if you are a regular smoker & been doing it for a while. Eating 3 meals a day & daily exercise should keep you in good health. I know for a fact because i smoke

Me and my bf smoke a fair bit of weed per day. When I was in college I tried not to smoke much so I've always been a little heavier than my partner. Since graduating I've been adimitly seeking work and nothing so I've been partaking more than I used to. My partner is a long term smoker for over 7/8 years now and he can't eat without it. I try to get him to eat but he won't. He is only 8 stone. Im similar height but I was a little over weight. Since I started smoking again in june, 2 months ago I've dropped 2 dress sizes. So it must be doing something. However I wouldn't recommend smoking pot as a form of diet to lose weight. It's not worth the long term appetite problems.
