when you smoke it makes you hungry... it gives you the munchies, not all the time. I dont eat unless i smoke, so id say that weed would make you gain weight

It doesn't doing anything but change how your body does sugar an I guess if you have weight issuies bc sugar than that's why..

Months ago I was what most considered a stoner and lots of people told me I was losing weight, so I did my research. I stopped smoking for about a month and gained all my weight back. As I started smoking again I saw that I was losing the weight again. Hope this helps!!

I was 21 stone and now im down to 14. I had no change in diet i just smoked more but now i have quit im scared im going to pile on the pounds i am living proof heavy smokers will loose weight.

I'm a regular pot user i use it for merdisamel purposes because of my physical and mental disabilties. 

I find when i'm high i have more energy and im more wanting to sit less on my bum because i'm not in pain so i can walk a bit longer then i could if i wasn't smoking it. I've also found i've lost weight because i'm more active and I don't think of food. I can go a few days without eating anything and only drinking tea. But i'm off the high i find i'm wanting food more then i would normally.

P.S The Physical disabiltiles I suffer with are Mild Cerebral Palsy, Dyspraxia, Lower Spine Arthertis and Bipolar 2 and i'm only 24yrs old

I think only Weed smokers are entitled to an opinion on this as I am a regular one and I do not have an appetite at all when I am smoking in fact it makes me feel sick thinking about food when I'm high but when I first started smoking I did get the munchies but after a year or two that doesn't happen anymore, now I only eat when I'm not high so i only regularly eat lunch once a day now. Unless you Smoke it yourself who's to know how anyone's body works

Thank you. Although it felt like I needed to quit because I am a bodybuilder and my muscles has just vanished ... nothwithstanding I am smoking all day ... just started after coming home and accomplishing much from the war. I am anticipating my physical workout, proper meals, will put me back to my old self. Your advice has a ring of truth it so I give you a thumbs up. Sounds like you read the book.

I find it that depending on your lifestyle and your daily intake of food depends on rather if you loose weight or gain weight from smoking weed. From a personal expirence i have not gainged a pound from smoking weed i have actually loose weight rapidly, which in my case is good because i would like to stay my size. I dont get the munchies but i sometimes get hungry when im coming down.  I'm the type of person who doesn't eat much, not beacuse i don't have food but because i don't eat when im bored, i eat when my body tells me to.


I smoke everyday and since i don't really eat except when im actually hungry i sometimes only have a snack and then when i get high i fall asleep while im coming down which causes me not to gain weight by eating. *TIP TO LOOSING WEIGHT IF YOU SMOKE REGULARLY: don't eat when you get bored, just think about it. You sometimes may get some junk food as a snack but your not hungry. Wait until your body tells you it's hungry...it works especially when you smoke, also when your stomach growls it doesn't always mean you need a meal it can mean you need a snack like yogurt, try that firt before eating a feast.

okay, personal experience time, lets begin with my health before smoking marijuana: 

being a little kid, i was always overweight. Always. I was passively teased about it, and I ate VERY unhealthy with little regard to it whatsoever. I eventually was obese, and continued to be so for years. It effected many aspects of my life, especially in terms of hygiene when i hit my awkward beginning pubescent years. My weight fluctuated throughout middle school but bloomed to the heaviest i had ever been the year before i went into high school and it just started ticking up. Now, to the relevant part:

being a teenager, I have been smoking marijuana for almost 2 years now, for the most part consistently. at the time I started smoking, I was VERY unhealthy, always tired, very socially inconfident and weighed 220 pounds and was 5'5. after half a year of smoking marijuana through the summer and winter, i began being more active and eating better - generally, i had more energy. However, the following summer was when I really began to lose weight. I would eat enormous amounts of healthy food but through avid exercise, even just dancing like aerobics or hiking / jogging through my backyards woods the fat melted off. When i returned to school after that summer and even weeks before then people had been complimenting me on my lost weight and i probably had dropped to about 180 at the time. now, currently I am 155, having dropped 25 pounds and I am the healthiest I have been in my entire life. I do believe that I have maintained a better control over my portions of what I eat although I do often cheat and eat junk food with my friends - just not in gross, excessive amounts. When I began seeing marijuana as a dietary tool, I was able to lose weight. SO basically, if you control your portions and don't go TOO CRAZY with the munchies, especially in the beginning stages of weight loss, i strongly believe that marijuana can help drop the pounds. Perhaps because of its fat burning potential / heart beat raising effects, but also I can assert that it's simple aid in boosting my energy and appreciation for a generally healthier lifestyle (natural whole foods, exercise) and my privilege of having access to an immense, beautiful forest in my backyard has greatly influenced my journey. 

Marijuana is great. Just don't abuse it. I've been trying to cut down more but honestly, I do think it can promote and aid with a healthier lifestyle if you yourself is driven to do it.
