I'm sorry, but I find this reverse psychology hard to swallow. This is just my input, but I've been off cigarettes for more than 2 years, and have done nothing but focus on my health. I did weight training and cardio sessions learned from the days when I was in the military. Let me tell you, it will do nothing but make you tired. Your body needs to repair, you spend hours sleeping to fix that you've broken down. This is not a requirement for a healthy life. I also believe that this is the exact opposite of that smoking will bring you.

Any smoker will know that smoking helps you stay more awake and alert, it's a stimulant. It raises your blood pressure. Any smoker will know that smoking makes you feel better, the chemical release is a mood enhancer that will help you keep focus. Working out will get you pumped for 6-8 hours after a session, but just like a sugar high, you will crash.

Don't get me wrong, smoking has extremely negative effects on the body. But, what you've said above is nothing but bs that you often hear on a day time talk show, speeches given by those either with no experience or are sickly from a bad experience, circling around someone who 'needs help'. If anyone reading this is honestly considering to smoke, please understand the facts and weigh your options. Smoking can come at a heavy price, but so can 2-4 extra hours of sleep a day for x amount of months to make up for your workout. In my opinion, time is money.

Thank you for that insight...I'm a writer who's convinced that I write better when I smoke and get panicked by the haziness when I stop. But maybe as you suggest I just need to stop for long enough to complete the withdrawal and then I can feel alert w/o the nicotine...
